The Britax Cypress is a rear-facing infant car seat sold with the Alpine base. The manual allows babies from 4 to 30 lb and 17 to 32 inches, with the head at least 1 inch below the top of the head restraint. The base installs with LATCH or a vehicle belt, and both expire after 6 years.
The Cypress suits a family that wants a carrier that lifts out of an installed base and onto select Britax strollers. The trade-off is a short working life: it is rear-facing only, is outgrown at 30 lb or 32 inches, and expires after 6 years. Against the Willow SC, Britax lists the same limits and outside dimensions, but the Cypress carrier is listed at 9.7 lb against 9.3 lb, and the Cypress adds three padded inserts and double-knit mélange fabric.

This seat covers one stage. Britax gives it a 6-year life from the date of manufacture, so check the date label before using a hand-me-down.

A child must meet every limit for the mode they use. The labels on your seat and its manual are the final word.
Every install is a fit between one seat and one vehicle. Read both manuals, and use a free inspection station if anything is unclear.

At 16.9 in at its widest, this seat is one of the narrower ones in its class and is a candidate for three across in many mid-size cars. It weighs 9.7 lb, which matters if you will move it between cars or carry it through an airport.
Ponte Stone, Ponte Glacier.
With the car on level ground, you press the recline button and move the base until the whole blue marker sits between the two lines on the recline indicators, and it must stay there once the baby is in. If the angle cannot be reached, the manual allows a rolled towel or pool noodle in the seat bight, with the recline foot in its lowest position. For a lap-shoulder belt, you open the ClickTight, tuck both parts of the belt under it, buckle, remove slack and close it, without locking the retractor. A lap belt must be locked. Up to 4.7 inches of the base may hang over the edge of the vehicle seat, with no side overhang, and it must move less than 1 inch at the belt path.

The carrier can be belted in on its own. The manual says to buckle the baby in first, place the carrier rear-facing and route the lap part of the belt under the carrier's belt guides. With a lap-shoulder belt, you can wrap the shoulder part around the back through the European belt guide. You lock the belt as your vehicle manual describes, and use a locking clip if it cannot lock. The level line on the carrier label must be level to the ground. For aircraft, the manual describes a baseless install with the lap belt, asks for a window seat, and says inflatable aircraft lap belts are not compatible.

The harness ships in the inner loop, which is for babies up to 11 lb; the outer loop covers 4 to 30 lb. The hip straps also have an optional inner slot up to 11 lb. To change shoulder height, you slide each strap off the yoke underneath and rethread it through the closest slot below the shoulders, at the same height on both sides. The middle and lower positioning pillows are only for babies under 11 lb, while the head pad may be used from 4 to 30 lb. In the car the handle must be in a locked position, and Britax recommends position 1, which is also the carry position.

The canopy, head pad, harness straps, comfort pads, buckle and belly pad come off first. Then you release two elastic straps, the elastic bands by the belt guides and the plastic snaps on each side, and lift the cover away. For washing, the manual sends you to the care label and to the Britax FAQ when the label says machine washable, and says not to bleach or iron. The harness is sponge cleaned with warm water and mild soap and never machine washed. The buckle is only rinsed in warm water, without soap or lubricant, then fastened until each tongue clicks.

No campaign in the current NHTSA child-restraint data names this model family, and I have not run a separate review for it. Check your seat’s model number and date of manufacture before use.
The manual allows 4 to 30 lb and 17 to 32 inches, rear-facing only. The top of the head must also be at least 1 inch below the top edge of the head restraint, so a tall baby can outgrow it before 30 lb.

Britax lists the carrier at 9.7 lb and the Alpine base at 10.2 lb. These are manufacturer figures, and the baby's weight comes on top when you carry it.

Yes, without the base. The manual certifies it for aircraft with a baseless lap-belt install, recommends a window seat and says inflatable aircraft lap belts are not compatible. It also says the seat may not fit all aircraft, so check with the airline first.

The manual says not to use the seat or base if it is older than six years or has been in a moderate or severe crash. The expiration date is on the date of manufacture label on the carrier and the base.

Mostly in fabric and carrier weight. Britax lists the Willow SC with the same 4 to 30 lb and 17 to 32 inch limits, the same 28.1 x 16.9 x 24.11 inch dimensions, a 9.3 lb carrier and StayClean fabric on select fashions.

No. The manual says not all strollers are compatible and refers you to the Britax FAQ. To attach it, you set the parking brake, line the carrier up with the stroller adapters and push down until it clicks.
