The Clek Fllo is a convertible car seat. Rear-facing it fits children from 14 to 50 lb and 25 to 43 in who can sit upright alone. Forward-facing it fits 26.5 to 65 lb and 30 to 49 in, at least 1 year old with 2+ recommended. It expires 9 years after manufacture.

My take on the Fllo

The Fllo suits a family that wants long rear-facing use in a narrow seat and expects to install with a seat belt, for example in a center seat or three across. It is lighter than the Foonf but has no rigid LATCH and no recline adjuster beyond a recline foot. The Foonf shares the same child limits but adds rigid LATCH forward-facing and needs its base and anti-rebound bar rear-facing.

Who the Fllo fits

This seat covers 2 stages, and a child has to meet every limit of the stage they are in. Clek gives it a 9-year life from the date of manufacture, so check the date label before using a hand-me-down.

Rear-facing harness14 to 50 lb · 25 to 43 in: The child faces the back of the car, which keeps the head, neck and spine supported in a frontal crash. Keep this mode as long as the child fits it.
Forward-facing harness26.5 to 65 lb · 30 to 49 in · from 12 months: The child faces forward in the seat’s own harness. Use the top tether every time, and stay in the harness until the child outgrows it.

How the Fllo installs

Belt lock-off: Rear-facing lock-offs. A lock-off clamps the vehicle belt so you do not have to switch the belt's retractor into its locked mode.
Lower anchors: LATCH or seat belt installation. Check your vehicle manual for which seating positions have anchors, and switch to the seat belt once the child passes the anchor weight limit in the manual.
Harness: 6 harness heights. Check the harness height at each growth spurt: at or below the shoulders rear-facing, at or above them forward-facing.

Every install is a fit between one seat and one vehicle. Read both manuals, and use a free inspection station if anything is unclear.

Will it fit your car?

At 16.9 in at its widest, this seat is one of the narrower ones in its class and is a candidate for three across in many mid-size cars. It weighs 25 lb, which matters if you will move it between cars or carry it through an airport.

Check your vehicle manual for lower anchor positions and any head-restraint rules.
Rear-facing seats need front-seat room: try the install behind the driver before you commit.
Certified for aircraft use, so it can travel as a seat rather than checked baggage.

What to know before you live with it

Rear-facing installation

Rear-facing, the recline foot goes in its rear-facing position, the seat cushion comes off, and the LATCH belt or vehicle belt runs through the rear-facing belt path with both lock-offs closed over it. Above 35 lb, the manual requires the vehicle belt. The anti-rebound bar is optional, and the manual notes some vehicles get a secure install at the right angle more easily with it and some without it. For an infant under 22 lb, the top (more reclined) reference line must be parallel to the ground; over 22 lb, the bottom line. Use stops at 50 lb, 43 in, or when the head is less than 1 in from the top of the headrest at its highest position.

Forward-facing installation

Forward-facing, the anti-rebound bar must be removed and the recline foot moved to its forward-facing position. The seat installs with the LATCH belt and top tether or the vehicle belt and top tether. Above 40 lb, the manual requires the vehicle belt and top tether. The tops of the child's ears must be at or below the top of the headrest, the harness comes from slots at or above the shoulders, and the crotch strap goes in the outer slot at the longer length.

Size and weight

Clek lists the seat at 16.9 in wide with a 13 in base width. Rear-facing it is 32.5 in front to back with the anti-rebound bar, or 29 in without it, and 25.5 to 27 in tall. It weighs 25 lb, or 28 lb with the anti-rebound bar. Forward-facing it is 26 to 31 in tall and weighs 25 lb. The harness has 6 heights with slots from 8 to 17 in. The infant-thingy, sold separately, lets the seat fit a child of 5 lb and 19 in.

Is the Fllo recalled?

21C005000: covers this model. Campaign 21C005000 covers Fllo model numbers FL15 through FL19 made July 5, 2014 to May 20, 2021 (loose EPP foam). This Fllo carries FL19U1 model numbers, so seats from that build window are inside the recall; Clek corrected production on May 21, 2021. Campaign source (read October 7, 2026).

Can I use the Clek Fllo on an airplane?

Yes. The manual certifies it for aircraft and points to the lap belt install steps for either direction. The top tether stays stored because aircraft have no tether anchors, and a checked seat must be packed in a Clek Weelee bag.

How is the Fllo different from the Foonf?

Clek lists the Foonf with the same child limits but at 38 lb rear-facing and 33 lb forward-facing, 33 in front to back rear-facing, and with a rigid LATCH forward-facing install. The Foonf box includes a rear-facing base as well as the anti-rebound bar.
