My take on the Fit360 ClearTex
The Fit360’s main attraction is access: turn the seat toward the door to load the child, then lock it in a permitted travel position. Check the space needed for that movement in your car. It is a convertible restraint with a rotating base, not a removable infant carrier.
Rotation is a convenience to evaluate in your actual parking routine. A tight garage or low door opening may change how useful it feels. Ask to try the movement in your vehicle, including with another seat nearby, and compare access to the belt path as well as access to the child.

Rear-facing harness
Harness at or below shoulders. Newborn positioner: 4–11 lb only. Seat must lock into a permitted travel position.

The seat lifts off a base, and the base installs with either the vehicle lap-shoulder belt or LATCH, always with the top tether. The manual recommends the lap-shoulder belt with tether. Lower anchors stop at 30 lb rear-facing and 35 lb forward-facing. Before driving, the seat must be rotated to rear-facing or forward-facing with the Ready to Ride indicator green.
Base with vehicle lap-shoulder belt, LeverLock and top tether (recommended)
Use when: Any child within the seat's limits in either rear-facing or forward-facing mode; the manual names it the recommended method
- The lap belt lies flat over the belt path on both sides of the base frame, the shoulder belt sits in the shoulder belt path on the side opposite the buckle, and the lap belt has not slipped in front of the belt guide lip
- The LeverLock door is pushed closed and clicks into place
- The tether hook is attached to a vehicle tether anchor and tightened
- Holding the base near the belt paths, it moves no more than 1 inch (25 mm) side to side or forward, and the vehicle belt stays tight

Base with LATCH lower anchors, LeverLock and top tether
Use when: Rear-facing children up to 30 lb or forward-facing children up to 35 lb, in a vehicle position with lower anchors at the standard 11 inch spacing
- Do not use the lower anchors above 30 lb (13.6 kg) rear-facing or 35 lb (15.9 kg) forward-facing, and do not use the seat belt and LATCH at the same time
- Both LATCH connectors are attached, the strap slack is removed, and the strap lies flat over the belt guides on both sides of the base frame
- The LeverLock door clicks closed and the tether is attached and tightened
- The base moves no more than 1 inch (25 mm) side to side or forward when held near the belt paths

Attaching and rotating the seat on the installed base (both modes)
Use when: After the base is installed, every time the seat is set up rear-facing or forward-facing
- The seat clicks into the base; the seat cannot be used without being attached to the base
- The seat is rotated to the rear-facing or forward-facing position and the Ready to Ride indicator shows green, not red
- If the indicator is red, the seat is rotated without pressing the release handles until it locks
- The seat is in the green check position whenever the vehicle is moving, even when the seat is empty

Aircraft installation with the aircraft lap belt
Use when: On a forward-facing aircraft seat, after confirming the airline's child restraint policy
- The aircraft lap belt goes over the LeverLock door and over the belt guides, lying flat on both sides with the slack removed
- The seat is then rotated to rear-facing or forward-facing with the Ready to Ride indicator green
- The base moves no more than 1 inch (25 mm) from the aircraft seat back or side to side, and the aircraft belt stays tight
- The restraint is level for the mode in use, and an infant's head does not fall forward

Fit checks before every ride
- Rear-facing only for children who weigh 4 to 40 lb, are no taller than 43 inches, and whose harness straps can be at or below the shoulders (p. 25)
- Newborn Body Positioner only rear-facing and only for 4 to 11 lb; no other inserts, head rests or pillows (pp. 8, 25, 36)
- Forward-facing only for children at least one year old who weigh 26.5 to 65 lb, whose harness straps can be at or above the shoulders, and who are 49 inches tall or less OR whose ear tops are below the top of the head rest (wording as printed) (p. 27)
- Never turn the seat forward-facing with an infant under one year of age (pp. 24, 26)
- Overall use requires both 4 to 65 lb and a height of 49 inches or less; the manual states the seat is designed for birth to 6 years (pp. 4, 8)
- Premature infants: consult the infant's doctor before use (p. 4)

- Harness height is changed with the head rest adjustment handle, with the harness loosened first, and the head rest must lock in position before tightening (p. 86)
- Harness is snug when no fold of strap can be pinched at the shoulders; straps lie flat, untwisted and centered on the shoulders (pp. 92, 94)

Fit360 ClearTex features
- Rotating seat with Ready to Ride indicator
- Seat rotates on the base; green indicator means locked in the rear-facing or forward-facing travel position, red means not locked. Rotate with the vehicle door open. (pp. 18, 74, 78)
- Loading position
- The harness is loosened and the child secured with the seat rotated to face the vehicle door; the seat must be returned to the green check position before driving (pp. 74, 80)
- Removable seat and base
- Seat is removed from the base (seat release handles plus a seat removal tool on the end of the harness adjuster strap) to install the base or adjust recline; the seat is not to be used in a vehicle without the base (pp. 8, 50-51, 72)

- Fabric
- Soft goods: hand wash with mild soap and water, or machine wash in cold water on delicate with mild detergent; hang to dry. Shoulder pads: hand wash only with mild soap and water; hang to dry. Never use the seat without the seat pad.
- Harness and straps
- Harness: sponge clean with warm water and mild soap, air dry, do not machine wash. LATCH and adjuster straps: sponge clean with warm water only, air dry; do not remove them, and LATCH straps cannot be replaced. No soaps or lubricants on the harness adjuster strap, buckle or LATCH hardware.
- Plastic parts
- Sponge clean with warm water and mild soap; towel dry. No bleach, solvents or household cleaners.

- Buckle and LATCH hardware: sponge clean with warm water only; if debris is in the buckle, remove it and rinse in a cup of warm water, then air dry. Cup holders are dishwasher safe on the top rack only. Never use the seat without the crotch strap installed, and do not use it if any part of the harness is damaged.

How long does the Fit360 ClearTex last?
Do not use the child restraint if it is more than 8 years old; check the manufacturer's label on the base for the Do Not Use After date. Replace it after any crash, even without visible damage. (manual p. 12)
Can you use the Fit360 ClearTex on a plane?
The manual states the restraint is certified for use on aircraft, says to contact the airline before travel about its child restraint policy, and says to use it only on forward-facing aircraft seats. The aircraft lap belt goes over the LeverLock door and belt guides of the base, then the seat is rotated to rear-facing or forward-facing with the Ready to Ride indicator green. The same 1 inch movement and level checks apply. (manual pp. 96-98)

Try the loading movement in your parking space
The point of rotation is reaching the child and harness. A tight garage, adjacent restraint or vehicle pillar may affect that movement. Try opening the actual door and turning the seat in the intended seating position before treating rotation as an everyday benefit.
The lock check belongs in the routine
The sideways loading position and a permitted travel position are different. Follow the manual’s rotation instructions and confirm the restraint is locked before moving the vehicle. The mechanism is a feature to understand, not a substitute for checking the installation.
Plan for the installation transition
The reviewed manual gives lower-anchor child-weight limits of 30 lb rear-facing and 35 lb forward-facing. These are not the overall limits of the harness modes. Read the vehicle-belt installation and tether instructions before that change becomes necessary.

Fit360 ClearTex: common questions
What are the rear-facing limits?
The reviewed February 2025 manual gives 4-40 lb and up to 43 inches for rear-facing use, with additional harness and fit conditions. The newborn positioner is for 4-11 lb only. Read the complete manual for the exact seat.
Does it become a booster?
This Fit360 ClearTex entry covers rear-facing and forward-facing harness use. It does not describe a belt-positioning booster mode. Do not assume every rotating seat is an all-in-one.
How wide is the Fit360?
Chicco lists an outer width of 18.25 inches. That figure does not include the clearance needed to rotate the seat and does not establish three-across or small-car compatibility.
How much does it weigh?
The manufacturer material reviewed contains both 31.25 lb and 33.8 lb figures. I have left the weight unverified rather than select one. Ask Chicco for the weight of your exact model and configuration.
Can I use the lower anchors all the way to 65 lb?
No. The reviewed manual’s lower-anchor child limits are 30 lb rear-facing and 35 lb forward-facing. Follow the prescribed vehicle-belt installation beyond the applicable anchor limit, and always use the top tether with either installation method.
Can the Fit360 ClearTex be used on an airplane?
The February 2025 manual reviewed here certifies aircraft use with the base and gives aircraft belt-routing instructions on pages 96–99. Match that manual to your seat’s label and check the airline’s seating policy. Aircraft approval does not establish that the seat fits every airplane seat.
Can the cover go in the washing machine?
Chicco describes the removable fabric as machine-washable. That does not extend to the harness, buckle or other components. Follow the exact care instructions for each part.
