The trade-off is width: CYBEX lists it at 23.2 in wide unfolded, and the US product page does not link a US owner's manual. To fold, remove the cup holder if you have one, pull the adjustment handle at the front and fold the backrest over until it clicks. A carry handle on the back of the seat is then used to lift it. To unfold, pull the handle and open the backrest until you hear a click. CYBEX says the folded shape takes up to a third less storage space and lists the seat at 12.8 lbs. It also says never to use the booster base without the backrest attached, so this is not a backless booster.

The child and the seat are held by the vehicle's 3-point belt. Rigid LATCH anchors help keep the booster in place while the child gets in and out. In a car without lower anchors, CYBEX says to turn the LATCH arms 180 degrees inward and slide them into the booster, then use the belt alone. To recline, pull the adjustment handle on the front and push or pull the seat, only when the child is not sitting in it. CYBEX says it is normal for the backrest to move and leave space against the vehicle seat. The child's ears should stay below the top of the booster.

The cover comes in 4 parts. The reclining headrest pad releases at a hook and loop fastener behind the headrest, and the headrest cover unhooks below the headrest wings. CYBEX says the backrest cover is easier to remove if you fold the seat first, release its 6 corner points, then unfold it. The booster cover comes off after you release two elastic fasteners underneath and work it around the armrest. The care instructions say to machine wash separately in cold water on a delicate cycle, with no bleach, and drip dry.

CYBEX lists the Solution T at 15.3 in long, 19.8 in wide, 24.6 - 31.4 in tall and 15.8 lbs, and its page does not describe a fold. It has a headrest with 12 height settings, a 3-position reclining headrest, rigid LATCH and one included cup holder. Its page gives the same 40 to 120 lbs weight range. If the booster stays in one car and back-seat room is tight, the Solution T is worth comparing; if it moves between cars, the fold is the reason to pick the G2.
