This seat covers 3 stages, and a child has to meet every limit of the stage they are in. Chicco gives it a 10-year life from the date of manufacture, so check the date label before using a hand-me-down.

How the OneFit Max ClearTex All-in-One Car Seat installs
- Lower anchors
- SuperCinch LATCH. Check your vehicle manual for which seating positions have anchors, and switch to the seat belt once the child passes the anchor weight limit in the manual.
- Recline
- 8 recline positions. The recline angle is what keeps a young baby’s airway open, so set it before tightening the install.
- Harness
- 10-position headrest/harness height adjust. Check the harness height at each growth spurt: at or below the shoulders rear-facing, at or above them forward-facing.
