Rear-facing, the Entrada installs with the lower anchor belt or the vehicle belt, and the tether stays in storage. It must touch the back of the vehicle seat in front of it, or be as close as possible. The manual uses two level lines. For children 5 to 30 lb and 19 to 34.3 in., the bottom line must be parallel with the ground. For children 30 to 40 lb and 34.4 to 40 in. who can sit up unassisted, the top line must be. You rotate the seat up or down to reach the right line, and redo the installation if it is not reclined correctly. It should not move more than 1 in. at the belt path.

Before turning it forward, the manual says the child must have outgrown rear-facing mode. Forward-facing, you must always attach and tighten the top tether when anchors are available. The lower anchor belt plus tether is allowed only up to 55 lb. Above that, the vehicle lap belt or lap and shoulder belt plus tether is used, for children up to 65 lb. The vehicle seatback must be upright, though you can adjust its angle slightly to match the car seat. If a vehicle headrest gets in the way of a flush fit, the manual says to check whether it can be removed or adjusted, or to use another seating position.

Squeezing the headrest handle moves it up or down, and the manual says this is how you set harness height. Rear-facing, the straps sit at or slightly below the shoulders and the head must be at least 1 in. below the top of the headrest. Forward-facing, straps sit at or slightly above the shoulders. The third buckle slot is not used rear-facing. For washing, you must remove the harness system before the pad set comes off. The pad set is machine washed in cold water on gentle, with no bleach, and tumble dried for 10 to 12 minutes on low. The 2 cup holders are top-rack dishwasher safe.
