Who is the Tribute LX Convertible Car Seat for?
The Tribute LX is a convertible seat: rear-facing from 5 to 40 lb and 19 to 40 in, then forward-facing from 30 to 40 lb and 35 to 40 in for children at least 2 years old. It has no booster mode. Evenflo lists it at 9.29 lb and 17 in wide, and the manual certifies it for aircraft.
Reasons to consider it
Listed at 9.29 lb, with rear- and forward-facing aircraft installation steps in the manual
17 in wide, which Evenflo pitches for smaller vehicles
Rear-facing from 5 lb, with an optional infant head support and body pillow (not on all models) for rear-facing use
Two buckle positions and upfront harness tightening
Things to weigh up
The forward-facing harness ends at 40 lb, and there is no booster mode
Its 4 harness positions are changed by rethreading the straps through the shell and pad
The manual gives a rear-facing height of 19 to 40 in, while the product page lists 19 - 37 in
The manual points to an expiration date label but gives no number of years
My take on the Tribute LX Convertible Car Seat
It suits a family that needs a light, narrow seat for a small car, a second car or flying. The trade-off is a low ceiling: the harness stops at 40 lb in both directions, and the manual says to stop using the seat after that. The Symphony Extend Breeze rear-faces to 50 lb, forward-faces to 65 lb and adds a booster to 100 lb, but Evenflo lists it at 17 lb.

Who the Tribute LX Convertible Car Seat fits
This seat covers 2 stages, and a child has to meet every limit of the stage they are in. Check the date label on the shell before using a hand-me-down; every seat has an expiry.
Rear-facing harness5 to 40 lb · 19 to 40 in
The child faces the back of the car, which keeps the head, neck and spine supported in a frontal crash. Keep this mode as long as the child fits it.
Forward-facing harness30 to 40 lb · 35 to 40 in · from 2 years
The child faces forward in the seat’s own harness. Use the top tether every time, and stay in the harness until the child outgrows it.

How the Tribute LX Convertible Car Seat installs
Harness
4-position shoulder harness. Check the harness height at each growth spurt: at or below the shoulders rear-facing, at or above them forward-facing.
Every install is a fit between one seat and one vehicle. Read both manuals, and use a free inspection station if anything is unclear.
Will it fit your car?
At 17 in at its widest, this seat is one of the narrower ones in its class and is a candidate for three across in many mid-size cars. It weighs 9.29 lb, which matters if you will move it between cars or carry it through an airport.
Check your vehicle manual for lower anchor positions and any head-restraint rules.
Rear-facing seats need front-seat room: try the install behind the driver before you commit.
Certified for aircraft use, so it can travel as a seat rather than checked baggage.

What to know before you live with it
Rear-facing with the recline stand
For rear-facing use you flip the recline stand to the recline position, and the level arrow must be parallel to the ground; a rolled towel under the stand is allowed if needed. Install with the lower anchor connectors or the vehicle belt through the rear-facing belt path, never both, and do not use the tether rear-facing. The seat must not move more than 1 in at the belt path. The manual says not to loosen the belt for leg room. Vehicles built before model year 1996 with an emergency locking retractor and a sliding latch plate need a locking clip, which is not included.
Forward-facing, the recline stand goes to the upright position and the manual says to use the tether. The child must weigh 30 to 40 lb, be 35 to 40 in tall and be at least 2 years old, with the tops of the ears at or below the top of the seat back. The harness goes at or above the shoulders in the top or middle positions; the lowest slots are rear-facing only. A center install using the inner lower anchor bars of the outer seats is allowed if the vehicle manual permits it and the bars are 11 - 20 in apart. Past 40 lb, the manual says to stop using the seat and consider a booster.
The shoulder straps have four positions. To move them you loosen the harness, slide each strap off the splitter plate and thread it through the new slot in both the shell and the pad. Each strap has two loops: the top loop for an infant and the bottom loop as the child grows. The buckle strap has two slots; choose the one closest to the child but never under the bottom, and it can be shortened. The manual describes an optional infant head support and body pillow, not available on all models, for rear-facing use only, and says to cut off the plastic attachment on the head support. The cup holder is for soft cups only.
Machine wash the seat pad separately in cold water on a delicate cycle and tumble dry 10 to 15 minutes on low heat. Wipe the harness with mild soap and water and let it air dry. Do not immerse the LATCH connectors or buckle unless the back of the buckle permits rinsing. The manual allows 70% isopropyl alcohol for disinfecting. On a plane, the seat is certified when used with its harness. The aircraft seat must be fully upright, the seat goes in the recline position for rear-facing, and the aircraft belt is routed through the matching belt path. The manual also says to check with the airline first.
25C003000: does not cover this model. The Part 573 report covers only Canadian-market seats and travel systems with listed model numbers ending in C (for example 34912258C, 38412311C, 3811198C, 35012433C), listed with production dates January 1, 2018 to December 31, 2024 and shipped to US buyers without a US registration card; the population is defined by those numbers. This product's US model numbers CS200211190 and CS200212278 are not listed; the only Tribute item is the Canadian Tribute Factory Select 3811198C. Campaign source (read ).
Each campaign naming this family was read against this model’s numbers and build dates, and none covers it. Still check your seat’s model number and date of manufacture before use, especially on a used seat.
How long can a child ride rear-facing in the Tribute LX?
Until 40 lb or 40 in, with the top of the head at least 1 in below the top of the seat back. If a child under 2 outgrows rear-facing, the manual says to stop using the seat.
Yes. The manual certifies it for aircraft when used with the internal harness and gives rear- and forward-facing installation steps on pages 50 to 54. It also says to check with the airline before departure.
No. It has rear-facing and forward-facing harness modes only. Once a child passes 40 lb or the shoulders are above the highest harness level, the manual says to stop using it and consider a booster.
The manual does not give a number of years. It says to stop using the seat after the expiration date printed on the label with the date of manufacture.

Before you buy
Weigh and measure your child. The limits above are the manufacturer’s, and a child has to meet all of them for the mode they will use.
Confirm the exact version. Colors, retail exclusives and model numbers change limits more often than you would expect; Evenflo lists 2 colors of this seat.
Read the manual before you buy, not after. It is linked above and holds the fit rules, the install methods and the expiry.
Check recalls by model number and date of manufacture, and register the seat with Evenflo so you hear about the next one.
