How the Peri 180 Rotating Infant Car Seat installs

How the rotation works

The carrier rotates only while it sits on the base. Squeeze the rotation handle on the front of the base to turn it from rear-facing to side-facing, toward the parent. The manual limits side-facing to placing the carrier on the base and putting the child in or taking the child out. Turn it firmly back toward the rear of the base before driving, and check that the rotation lock indicator shows the locked symbol. The carrier also has 5 recline positions set with a handle on its back.

Installing the base

The base installs with its LATCH lower anchor belt or with the vehicle belt, never both. The base must sit flat on the vehicle seat, and the manual asks that the load leg be used when possible, without fully extending it until the base is in place. Belt tension indicators should turn completely green, and the base must not move more than 1 inch side to side at the belt path. If it does, the manual suggests tightening, reinstalling, changing seating position or switching install method.

Cleaning and inserts

Head pillow, body pillow, buckle cover and harness covers are on select models only. Only the top part of each harness cover is removable. The seat pad must be turned inside out before machine washing, separately, on a cold gentle cycle without bleach, then tumble dried separately for 10 to 12 minutes on low heat. Harness straps are spot clean only with warm sudsy water. The manual also suggests parking in shade and checking for hot buckles before placing a child in the seat.
