Things to weigh up

My take on the Pria Max+ All-in-One Convertible Car Seat
The Pria Max+ suits parents who want the Pria limits with the ClipQuik magnetic chest clip and a snack holder, and who do not need a backless mode. It shares one manual with the Pria and Pria Max, so the installation rules and limits are the same across all three. The differences are in the extras: the Max+ page lists a spill-proof snack lid and a cup holder that takes a two-handle sippy cup, and the Pria Max page lists 2 dishwasher-safe cup holders without those extras.

Who the Pria Max+ All-in-One Convertible Car Seat fits
This seat covers 3 stages, and a child has to meet every limit of the stage they are in. Maxi-Cosi gives it a 10-year life from the date of manufacture, so check the date label before using a hand-me-down.
Rear-facing harness5 to 40 lb · 19 to 40 in
The child faces the back of the car, which keeps the head, neck and spine supported in a frontal crash. Keep this mode as long as the child fits it.
Forward-facing harness30 to 65 lb · 34.4 to 49 in
The child faces forward in the seat’s own harness. Use the top tether every time, and stay in the harness until the child outgrows it.
Belt-positioning booster (high-back)40 to 100 lb · 43.4 to 52 in
The seat’s own back and belt guide route the vehicle belt across the shoulder, and the sides give the child something to lean on when they sleep.

How the Pria Max+ All-in-One Convertible Car Seat installs
Lower anchors
1-click LATCH. Check your vehicle manual for which seating positions have anchors, and switch to the seat belt once the child passes the anchor weight limit in the manual.
Recline
3 recline positions. The recline angle is what keeps a young baby’s airway open, so set it before tightening the install.
Harness
5-position no-rethread headrest/harness. Check the harness height at each growth spurt: at or below the shoulders rear-facing, at or above them forward-facing.
Every install is a fit between one seat and one vehicle. Read both manuals, and use a free inspection station if anything is unclear.
Will it fit your car?
Maxi-Cosi does not publish a width for this seat, so measure your back seat and compare it with the seat in a store before buying. It weighs 16.5 lb, which matters if you will move it between cars or carry it through an airport.
Check your vehicle manual for lower anchor positions and any head-restraint rules.
Rear-facing seats need front-seat room: try the install behind the driver before you commit.
Certified for aircraft use, so it can travel as a seat rather than checked baggage.

What to know before you live with it
One manual for three Pria models
The Pria, Pria Max and Pria Max+ all link to the same user guide, and it covers all three by name. The weight and height limits, belt paths, recline rules and lower anchor limit are identical. Some parts are marked as being on select models only, such as the harness covers and the side pocket harness holders. So the choice between them comes down to the extras on each product page, not to how long the seat lasts or how it installs.
Rear-facing, you install with either the vehicle belt or the lower anchor belt, never both, and the tether is stored. Forward-facing, the seat goes in Position 1 and the tether must always be used when anchors are available. The lower anchors are not for a child over 50 lb; above that, the vehicle belt is required for a child up to 65 lb. The seat should not move more than 1 in. side to side at the belt path. A rear-facing seat behind another seat must touch it or be as close as possible.
The seat has 3 positions. Rear-facing uses Position 3 or 2, Position 1 is not allowed rear-facing, and forward-facing and booster modes use Position 1. For a child of 5 to 30 lb and 19 to 34.3 in., the bottom level line must be parallel with the ground; for 30 to 40 lb and 34.4 to 40 in. and sitting up unassisted, the top line applies. When using the lower shoulder harness slots for smaller children, the manual requires the head and body pillows together and the headrest in its lowest position.

Pria Max+ All-in-One Convertible Car Seat: common questions
What is the difference between the Pria Max+ and the Pria Max?
Both share the same manual and limits. The Pria Max+ page lists a cup holder that can hold a two-handle sippy cup and a snack holder with a spill-proof lid.
Yes. The product page lists ClipQuik, a magnetic chest clip that opens with 1 hand, along with QuikFit adjustment without rethreading and 3 reclining positions.
The shared Pria manual says it is certified for aircraft use with the internal harness, but not as a booster, because aircraft seats have no shoulder belts. Install it in a window seat and use it only on forward-facing aircraft seats.
Machine wash the pad separately in cold water on a gentle cycle, without bleach, and tumble dry separately for 10 to 12 minutes on low heat. You do not need to remove the harness system to take the pad off, but the manual warns never to pull the harness strap fully out of the seat.
