The base installs with lower anchors, a lap/shoulder belt or a lap belt only, and each method is locked under the SafeLock belt tensioner until its indicator turns green. Before installing, the recline foot is set so the indicator line sits in the blue zone, which covers all children from 4 to 30 lb. There are four recline positions. CYBEX allows a center seat install with the inner lower anchors of the outboard seats only if they are 11 to 20 in apart and the vehicle maker allows it. The base must not move more than 1 in at the belt path, and LATCH and the seat belt are never used together.
CYBEX strongly recommends using the load leg. It is extended only to the first hole that locks it firmly against the vehicle floor, never further, and it must sit flat on the floor. It is not a recline adjustment. Some vehicle makers do not allow load legs in every seating position, so the vehicle owner's manual comes first. If the requirements cannot be met, the manual gives three choices: another seating position, the base with the leg stored, or installing without the base. When it is not in use, the leg locks into its storage spot under the base.

The cover, shoulder pads, infant insert and buckle cover can be machine washed in cold water on a delicate cycle and air dried, never ironed. Harness straps are sponge cleaned with warm water and mild soap. No bleach, household cleaners, solvents or lubricants. CYBEX recommends the infant insert until about 11 lbs or about 3 months. The buckle strap has rear, middle and front slots and should sit as close as possible to the child, but never under them.

Yes, but only without the base. The manual says to install it rear-facing in a window seat, with the aircraft lap belt through both lap belt guides pulled as tight as possible. It also says to check with the airline before departure.
The manual says never to use it when it is older than six (6) years. The date of manufacture is on a label on the bottom of the infant car seat.
