What to know before you live with it

Installing the Sport Base

On level ground, push the base into the vehicle seat and check the recline indicator. The white line must sit in the blue zone for 3 to 20 lb or the green zone for 20 to 30 lb, never in red, and the leveling foot folds down to change the angle. For LATCH, the base uses SecureRight hooks stored on its sides. For a seat belt, route the lap or lap-shoulder belt through the openings on the sides and through the vehicle belt clip, buckle, and pull out all slack while pressing down. The belt must lock, and the base may not move more than 1 in.

Handle positions and carrying

The handle has four positions. Position 1 is for carrying and is a travel position in the U.S. and Canada, and Position 3 is a U.S. travel position. Position 2 is never used in the vehicle, and Position 4 is a stand position for resting the carrier on a level surface. The manual says the harness must be buckled whenever the baby is in the carrier, and the handle must be locked in Position 1 before lifting. Never set the carrier on a bed, sofa, counter edge or shopping cart.

Conflicting figures on Evenflo's page

Evenflo's specifications list the seat at 8.17 lb and 19 in wide, 28.5 in deep and 24 in high, and the description says it weighs less than 8 lb. The same page's Q&A estimates 8.9 lb for the carrier and 15.5 lb with the base. Its Child Fit section gives 17.0 to 32.0 inches, while the manual gives 15.7 to 32 in. Another Q&A answer quotes a 4 to 35 lb range for LiteMax and SafeMax seats in general. For this seat, I would follow the manual, which gives 3 to 30 lb and 15.7 to 32 in.

Is the LiteMax Sport Infant Car Seat recalled?

26C002000: does not cover this model. The Part 573 report limits this recall to the LiteMax Factory Select, model CS100111198, built November 1, 2024 to January 28, 2026, for an error in its Spanish manual. The LiteMax Sport (CS100112403) has a different model number and is not in the population. Campaign source (read October 7, 2026).
25C003000: does not cover this model. The Part 573 report covers only Canadian-market seats and travel systems with listed model numbers ending in C (for example 34912258C, 38412311C, 3811198C, 35012433C), listed with production dates January 1, 2018 to December 31, 2024 and shipped to US buyers without a US registration card; the population is defined by those numbers. How do I wash the LiteMax Sport?

The manual says to machine wash the seat pad separately in cold water on a delicate cycle and tumble dry for 10 to 15 minutes on low heat. The harness is wiped with mild soap and water, and the seat is never used without the pad.
