Three ways to install it
The manual describes installing the convenience base with LATCH, with a lap and shoulder belt, or with a lap belt only. The carrier can also be belted in without the base, and the carrier with its stroller frame can be belted to the vehicle or clicked onto the base. Whichever route you use, the seat must not move more than 1 inch side to side or front to back at the rear-facing belt path. Never use LATCH and the seat belt together. The base has a 5-position recline foot. In the United States the carry handle can be in any locked position while driving; in Canada it must be in Stroller Mode.
Harness, headrest and small babies
The headrest moves the harness height without rethreading and has eight locked positions. Set it so the straps sit at or just below the shoulders. The Infant Body Support is required for babies from 3 to 6 lb and optional above 6 lb. The harness straps have a top loop, used only when needed to tighten the harness on a smaller infant, and a bottom loop for later. Evenflo requires the evaluation recommended by the AAP before the first car trip for babies born before 37 weeks or weighing less than 5 lb at birth.
Stroller and aircraft limits
The stroller frame is designed only for the Shyft DualRide infant seat, and the manual warns against using it with any other seat. It limits the cupholder to 1 lb, the Carry-All Bag to 7 lbs and the Universal Stroller Organizer to 2 lb, because heavier loads can make the stroller unstable. Do not roll it on stairs or escalators with the child in it, and never leave it on a hill. Washing the cover
Machine wash the soft goods separately in cold water on a delicate cycle with no chlorine bleach. Tumble dry for 10 to 15 minutes on low heat and remove them at once. Take out any foam inserts first. Wipe the harness with mild soap and water and let it air dry. Do not immerse or lubricate the buckle or the LATCH connectors unless the back of the buckle says rinsing is allowed. The seat cover releases with two tabs at the front and two at the back, marked with orange arrows, and the manual says never to use the seat without its pad.
