A child must meet every limit for the mode they use. The labels on your seat and its manual are the final word.
Every install is a fit between one seat and one vehicle. Read both manuals, and use a free inspection station if anything is unclear.
At 18.5 in at its widest, measure your back seat before counting on three across. It weighs 29.7 lb, which matters if you will move it between cars or carry it through an airport.

The manual prefers the lap/shoulder belt. Set the seat upright, rotate it rear-facing, attach the tether loosely, then route the belt across the anti-rebound panel and under the True Tension door. The shoulder belt goes behind the anti-rebound panel and over the tether strap. A lap-only belt is allowed if it can be locked, but the seat must then be in recline position 5 in both directions. The lower anchor belt is limited to 30 lb rear-facing and 35 lb forward-facing, and must never be combined with the vehicle belt. The seat should move less than 1 inch at the belt path.

The manual says the tether should always be used, rear-facing and forward-facing, routed over the seat's handle. There are 10 recline positions: 1 to 5 in blue for rear-facing use from 5 to 30 lb, and 1 to 5 in red for forward-facing use from 30 to 40 lb. A handle at the front sets the recline. The head support has 10 positions. Rear-facing, the harness sits at or just below the shoulders; forward-facing, at or just above. The shoulder, hip and crotch pads are always used.

The manual removes the head support fabric first: take out the pads and inserts, raise the head support, undo two snaps and pull the fabric over the frame. The seat cover then comes off by undoing snaps, releasing two fabric stiffeners and guiding the fabric around each side impact pod. Wash covers by the tag; the infant insert wedge is spot clean only. The harness and buckle cannot be removed, so wipe them. Do not use bleach, do not iron, and do not lubricate the spin mechanism.

Nuna's REVV maxx page lists rear-facing use with the seat belt at 5 to 40 lb and 18 to 43 in, and forward-facing use with the seat belt at 30 to 65 lb and 34 to 49 in. It also lists an 11-position headrest and a seat weight of 30.6 lb. If a forward-facing harness past 40 lb matters to you, that is the comparison to make.
