The UPPAbaby Aria V2 is a rear-facing-only infant car seat for babies from 4 to 30 lb and 30 inches or less. The carrier, listed at 6 lb without canopy and insert, clicks into a base with a load leg and an Anti-Rebound+ panel, belts in without it, and expires 7 years after manufacture.
The Aria V2 suits a parent who carries the carrier often and wants a load leg on the base. The trade-offs are a 30 inch height limit, a 7 year life and a 12.8 lb base. The Mesa V3 allows up to 32 inches and lasts 10 years, but its carrier is listed at 9.9 lb and its base has no load leg.

This seat covers one stage. UPPAbaby gives it a 7-year life from the date of manufacture, so check the date label before using a hand-me-down.

A child must meet every limit for the mode they use. The labels on your seat and its manual are the final word.
Every install is a fit between one seat and one vehicle. Read both manuals, and use a free inspection station if anything is unclear.

At 17 in at its widest, this seat is one of the narrower ones in its class and is a candidate for three across in many mid-size cars. It weighs 6 lb, which matters if you will move it between cars or carry it through an airport.

The manual recommends the load leg and suggests removing the floor mat first. Pull the leg out, set the base with it toward the front of the cushion, then adjust the foot until the bubble sits fully between the lines on both sides. Attach the lower anchors and push down until the tightness indicator turns green and stays green, or route a lap/shoulder or lap-only belt through the lock-off. The Anti-Rebound+ panel must touch the seat back fully. Then extend the leg until its indicator shows fully green and the foot meets the floor. The center seat with lower anchors needs anchors no more than 22 inches apart.

In a car, the baseless install is the European routing: the lap belt goes through both lap guides and the shoulder belt wraps around the back of the carrier, then you lock the belt and press the carrier into the seat. The red line on the carrier must be level with the floor. A separate lap-belt-only path is for aircraft, and the manual says never to use it in a car. The carrier is certified for aircraft use only without the base, on a forward-facing seat. Inflatable belts are not compatible.

The infant insert has two parts. The preemie cushion is used from 4 lb to about 9 lb, always with the back positioning insert. The back positioning insert can be used alone and comes out at about 4 months. The handle locks in five positions, and in a vehicle it must be in the 4th carry or 5th rebound position. The rock stop position is not allowed on a stroller. The FootCover fits only on the stroller. Seat fabrics and inserts machine wash warm on a gentle cycle and tumble dry low, while webbing and canopy are spot cleaned.

No campaign in the current NHTSA child-restraint data names this model family, and I have not run a separate review for it. Check your seat’s model number and date of manufacture before use.
The manual gives 4 to 30 lb and 30 inches or less, and the child must meet both. The top of the head must stay at least 1 inch below the top of the headrest.
UPPAbaby lists the carrier at 6 lb without the canopy and insert, and the base at 12.8 lb. These are manufacturer figures, not my measurements.
The manual says to stop using it 7 years from the date of manufacture, or after a crash. The dates are on labels on the bottom of the carrier and base.
Yes, the carrier is certified for aircraft use without the base. Route the aircraft lap belt through both guides, use a forward-facing seat, and ask for a belt extender if the belt is too short.
UPPAbaby lists the Mesa V3 for 4 to 30 lb and up to 32 inches, with a 9.9 lb carrier, a 9 lb base and two crotch buckle positions. UPPAbaby lists no load leg among the Mesa V3 base features.
The manual lists Vista V3, Vista V2, Vista 2015+, Cruz V3, Cruz V2 and Cruz directly, and Ridge, Minu and Minu Duo with model-specific adapters. The handle should be in the carry position when attaching it.
