Who is the Olli for?

The Clek Olli is a backless belt-positioning booster for children from 40 to 120 lb and 40 to 57 in who are at least 4 years old. It raises the child 4 in for better seat belt fit, attaches with rigid LATCH, weighs 5 lb, and expires 9 years after manufacture.

My take on the Olli

The Olli suits an older child who already fits a lap and shoulder belt on a booster without a back, and a family that moves the booster between cars. The trade-off is that it gives no head or shoulder belt support, so the vehicle seat back has to do that job. The Ozzi uses the same manual and limits; the Olli adds a quick-release strap and a cup holder.

Who the Olli fits

This seat covers one stage. Clek gives it a 9-year life from the date of manufacture, so check the date label before using a hand-me-down.

How the Olli installs

Rigid LATCH: Rigid LATCH. Rigid connectors click straight onto the vehicle's lower anchor bars, which removes the strap slack that causes loose installs.

Every install is a fit between one seat and one vehicle. Read both manuals, and use a free inspection station if anything is unclear.

Will it fit your car?

At 18 in at its widest, measure your back seat before counting on three across. It weighs 5 lb, which matters if you will move it between cars or carry it through an airport.

Check your vehicle manual for lower anchor positions and any head-restraint rules.
Rear-facing seats need front-seat room: try the install behind the driver before you commit.
Not certified for aircraft use: plan on gate-checking it or using a different seat to fly.

What to know before you live with it

Does the vehicle seat suit a backless booster?

The manual says the tops of the child's ears must be below the top of the vehicle seat back or a fully deployed head restraint. The child sits with their back flat against the vehicle seat back. Only a lap and shoulder belt may be used, never a lap-only, door-mounted or motorized belt. The lap belt must sit low and snug on the hips, and the shoulder belt must cross the middle of the shoulder and chest, never touching the neck or face, and never under the arm or behind the back.

Rigid LATCH and the quick release

The manual says to always secure the booster to the vehicle's LATCH anchors if available. It can still be used without them as long as the child is properly belted. Do not latch it if the seat belt or buckle becomes hard to reach. The connectors confirm with an audible click. To remove it, the Olli has a quick release strap at the front that releases both connectors as you pull the booster forward. The red buttons on each connector also work one at a time.

Washing the cover

The cover comes off the frame after the fastening strips are released. Set the foam pad aside, since it must not be washed, and re-attach all fastening strips before washing. Machine wash the cover separately in cold water at 80F/30C on a gentle cycle. Do not bleach, iron or dry-clean, and lay it flat to dry. Only Clek parts and accessories should be used, since the manual warns that parts from other makers could alter the booster's performance.

Is the Olli recalled?

22C002000: covers this model. Campaign 22C002000 covers Olli model OL12U2 made January 20, 2020 to May 10, 2022, which lack the continuous-loop belt installation diagram. This Olli carries OL12U2 model numbers, so seats from that build window are inside the recall; seats made after May 10, 2022 have the diagram. Campaign source (read October 7, 2026).

NHTSA currently lists one campaign naming this Clek family: 22C002000. A campaign names a family, not always every build, so check your seat’s model number and date of manufacture against the campaign itself.

The manual gives 40 to 120 lb and 40 to 57 in, at least 4 years old. The tops of the ears must also be below the top of the vehicle seat back or headrest.

Clek lists it at 18 in wide including the armrests and 15 in deep including the rigid LATCH. The cushion is 12.75 in wide and 13.25 in deep, and the seat is 3.75 in high at the rear and 5 in at the front.
