The rigid attachments slide out of the back of the booster. Squeeze both sides of each adjuster and slide the attachment out, then push it firmly onto the vehicle's lower anchor. The indicator on the adjuster turns green when it is connected. Then push the booster back until it touches the vehicle seat back. To remove it, squeeze each adjuster until it clicks and the indicator turns red. The attachments are not required, and the manual says not to use them if the lower anchors stop the belt fitting the child.
Use the booster only in a seating position with a vehicle head restraint, with the top of the child's ears below it. Route the lap belt under both armrests and the shoulder belt behind the armrest on the buckle side, buckle and remove slack. If the shoulder belt does not lie flat across the shoulder and chest, use the shoulder belt guide: loop it through the carry handle, slide it onto the shoulder belt and adjust it to sit at the top of the child's shoulder. The base must not overhang the vehicle seat.
The cover comes off by unhooking two elastic loops at the front and untucking the fabric from under the belt path. Follow the care label, and do not bleach or iron. Sponge clean the shell with warm water and mild soap, without solvents or abrasive cleaners. The cup holders are dishwasher safe, top shelf only. Stop using the booster when it is older than 10 years or after a moderate or severe crash; the date is on the label on the bottom.
