Who is the Skyline 2-Stage Belt-Positioning Booster for?
The Britax Skyline is a 2-stage belt-positioning booster. With the backrest it fits children 40 to 120 lb and 44 to 63 in, with a seated shoulder height up to 21.5 in; backless, 48 to 120 lb and 46 to 63 in. It uses the vehicle lap and shoulder belt, has quick-push lower connectors and expires after 10 years.
Reasons to consider it
High-back use from 40 to 120 lb and backless use from 48 to 120 lb
A 10-position headrest and a listed 15" shoulder width
Lower connectors to keep the booster secured when empty
A 10-year useful life
Things to weigh up
No SecureGuard clip for lap belt positioning
Only lap-shoulder belts can be used; lap-only, motorized and door-mounted belts cannot
Not certified for aircraft
Backless use needs a vehicle head restraint in that seating position
My take on the Skyline 2-Stage Belt-Positioning Booster
It suits a family that wants a high-back booster that converts to backless, without extra parts for the lap belt. The trade-off against the Highpoint is that there is no SecureGuard clip, so lap belt position depends on the armrests and base belt guides. Britax lists the Skyline at 11 lb against 12 lb for the Highpoint, with the same 16" x 21" x 27.5" dimensions and the same limits.

Who the Skyline 2-Stage Belt-Positioning Booster fits
This seat covers 2 stages, and a child has to meet every limit of the stage they are in. Britax gives it a 10-year life from the date of manufacture, so check the date label before using a hand-me-down.
High-back booster40 to 120 lb · 44 to 63 in
The seat’s own back and belt guide route the vehicle belt across the shoulder, and the sides give the child something to lean on when they sleep.
Backless booster48 to 120 lb · 46 to 63 in
Only the base is left, so the vehicle seat has to support the child’s back and head, and the belt guide sits at the hip.

A child must meet every limit for the mode they use. The labels on your seat and its manual are the final word.
Britax does not publish a width for this seat, so measure your back seat and compare it with the seat in a store before buying. It weighs 11 lb, which matters if you will move it between cars or carry it through an airport.
Check your vehicle manual for lower anchor positions and any head-restraint rules.
Rear-facing seats need front-seat room: try the install behind the driver before you commit.
Not certified for aircraft use: plan on gate-checking it or using a different seat to fly.

What to know before you live with it
Positioning the booster and the lower connectors
Lower connectors are optional and only hold the booster in place. Fully release the adjuster strap on both sides, then push the connectors onto the lower anchors, starting with the one farthest from you. A click helps confirm they are on; if there is no click, the strap may be twisted or there may be debris in the connector. Guide the booster back while pulling the strap, and stop once the slack is gone, because overtightening can push the backrest forward. The base must not overhang the vehicle seat.
Squeeze and hold the headrest adjuster, slide the headrest, then pull up to confirm it has locked. With the child sitting upright, the top of the headrest should be above the ears and the shoulder belt should pass through the shoulder belt guide and lie across the middle of the chest at or just above the shoulder. The lap belt goes under both armrests and over both base belt guides, and the shoulder part goes under the armrest on the buckle side. Do not recline the backrest past the first click.
Backless use is for children 48 to 120 lb and 46 to 63 in, and only in a seating position with a vehicle head restraint. The top of the child's ears must be below the top of that head restraint. The belt routing stays the same: lap belt under both armrests and over the base belt guides, shoulder belt under the armrest on the buckle side. Lower connectors can still be attached to keep the base secured.
The base, backrest and headrest covers are held with elastic loops. Remove the plastic insert from the headrest cover before washing. Follow the care label and do not bleach or iron. Sponge clean the shell with warm water and mild soap. The cup holders are dishwasher safe on the top shelf only, and they can be removed to make room for side-by-side seating. Stop using the booster after 10 years or a moderate or severe crash.
Is the Skyline 2-Stage Belt-Positioning Booster recalled?
No campaign in the current NHTSA child-restraint data names this model family, and I have not run a separate review for it. Check your seat’s model number and date of manufacture before use.
Put the booster on a flat surface, push the backrest down until it lies flat, then keep pushing until it separates from the base. Store the backrest somewhere cool and dry.
