The Cosco Topside BC214 is a backless belt-positioning booster for children 40 to 100 lb and 43.4 to 57 inches tall. It uses only the vehicle lap and shoulder belt, has no LATCH, and the manual says not to use it more than 10 years after manufacture. It is not certified for aircraft use.
The Topside BC214 suits a child past the harness stage who needs a booster that Cosco describes as lightweight and easy to move between cars, in a seat with a lap and shoulder belt and a vehicle headrest at ear height. The trade-off is that a backless booster leaves head and side protection to the vehicle. The manual's five steps start with centering the booster in a forward-facing seating position, with the vehicle seat back upright and the back of the booster flat against it. The child sits with back and bottom flat against the vehicle seat. Route the lap portion under both armrests so it lies across the upper thighs and hips, not the stomach. The shoulder belt must go under the armrest on the buckle side and lie across the center of the shoulder and chest. The manual says to check periodically that the child has not moved or loosened the shoulder belt.

The manual says to use only the vehicle's lap and shoulder belt and lists lap-only and inflatable seat belts as never to be used. It must only go on vehicle seats that face forward. Even when empty, it must be buckled in, because an unsecured booster could injure occupants in a crash or sudden stop. The manual also points out that backless boosters have no back or headrest, so any extra protection of the head and body depends on the vehicle. It suggests reading the vehicle owner's manual when choosing a seating position.

The pad pulls off from the front, over the armrests. Machine wash it separately in cold water on a gentle cycle and tumble dry it separately for 10 to 12 minutes on low heat, then remove it immediately. No bleach, harsh cleaners or dry cleaning. If the pad has armrest covers it slips over the armrests; if not, the armrests come through holes in the pad. The instruction sheet folds and stores under the seat pad, so it stays with the booster. The manual warns not to use the booster without its pad.

The manual gives 40 to 100 lb and 43.4 to 57 in. A child is done with it at 100 lb or 57 in, or earlier once the vehicle lap and shoulder belt fits properly without a booster.

Cosco says the slim design fits three across the back seat of most vehicles, but it does not publish a width. I would test it in the actual seating position with the other seats installed.

Cosco's BC030 page lists the same 40 to 100 lb and 43.4 to 57 in and also describes a lightweight booster that is easy to move between cars. Unlike the BC214 page, it does not claim three-across fit, and it says the fabric cover is hand-wash only. Its linked manual is an older edition with different height, age and expiry wording.
