What to know before you live with it
Installing with LATCH/UAS
The child is held by the vehicle's lap and shoulder belt, never a lap belt alone. The LATCH/UAS connectors keep the booster attached: press the cam lock lever, extend both straps, clip them to the lower anchors and tighten one strap and then the other while pushing the booster back. If your vehicle has lower anchors, Diono always recommends using them; if not, buckle the empty booster with the vehicle belt. The manual says the booster will still move a little even with the connectors tight, and in a center seat it must not rock side to side.

Head support and recline
You set the head support with the headrest height adjuster lever so the shoulder belt guide is slightly above the child's shoulders, at least 1 cm. The child should sit upright and all the way back. The two-stage recline lets the backrest move into a second position to match the vehicle seat; a gap behind it is acceptable as long as the head support touches the vehicle seat back or headrest. Before each use, pull some webbing out of the retractor and let it feed back, and never lock the retractor.

Backless mode and the guide strap
To go backless, remove the backrest and fold the backrest insert under the seat bottom cover. The lap belt runs through both lap belt guides and the buckle should line up with the RED belt path guides. In this manual the shoulder belt guide strap is conditional: if the vehicle shoulder belt does not fit the child correctly, the seat must be used with the strap. It is stored under the seat, feeds between the backrest mounting bar and seat base, and the RED guide sits just above the shoulder.

Removing and washing the covers
Detach the backrest first. The headrest cover comes off with the headrest at its highest position, the backrest cover after the elastic tabs come off the shell hooks, and the seat bottom cover after the elastic tabs come off the plastic tabs underneath. Machine wash the covers separately in cold water on a gentle cycle with mild detergent, or hand wash, and dry flat away from direct sunlight. No bleach, ironing or dry cleaning. Spot clean the plastic shell with warm water and mild detergent.

The manual says 40 to 120 lb (18 to 54 kg) and 38 to 63 in (97 to 160 cm) in both modes. In backless mode the child's ears must also be below the top of the fully raised vehicle seat or headrest.
How long does the Cambria 2 last before it expires?
Diono's manual says not to use it once expired, which it defines as over eight years from the date of purchase.
What is the difference between the Cambria 2 and Cambria 2XT?
Their manuals match word for word apart from the model name, including the 40 to 120 lb and 38 to 63 in limits. Diono's manuals do not state a difference, so I would compare the current product listings for features and fabrics.
Is the Cambria 2 approved for airplanes?
No. The manual says it is not certified for use in aircraft, because aircraft seats do not have the shoulder belts it requires.
