At 17.83 in at its widest, measure your back seat before counting on three across. It weighs 8.6 lb, which matters if you will move it between cars or carry it through an airport.

With the vehicle on level ground, set the 4-position recline foot until the recline indicator is completely green and open the LockStrong tray. For LATCH, clip both connectors to the lower anchors and tighten while pushing the base down with your full weight. For a seat belt, store the connectors, route the lap or lap-shoulder belt through the side openings across the blue belt guides and buckle. Close the tray until it clicks and the lock indicator turns green. The manual says never to put the vehicle belt over the tray, and to lock the seat belt. The base may not move more than 1 in at the belt path.

Press the grey button on the side to unlock the tray; the lock indicator turns red while it can turn. Click the carrier onto the silver bars, pull up to check it is attached, then rotate back to rear-facing until the indicator shows green. The manual's warning is direct: the side-facing position is only for placing the child in and out of the car, never rotate the seat while the vehicle is moving, and only travel with the tray locked rear-facing. The carrier must never be used forward-facing.

The manual lists aircraft as a certified use and says not to install the base in an aircraft. The carrier goes rear-facing on the aircraft seat, and the manual says most aircraft will require a window seat so the aisle is not blocked, with the aircraft seat fully upright. Route the lap belt through the carrier's belt guides, buckle, push the carrier down while removing slack, and level the line on the shell with the aircraft floor, using an airline blanket if needed. The manual says to unfasten the SensorSafe chest clip during taxi, takeoff and landing, and to fasten it again before lifting the carrier off the seat.

The handle locks in three positions, Viewing, Carry and Storage, and must be locked in one of them in a vehicle. It plays lights and sounds in the travel position; White Noise and Nightlight run until the end of the drive, and other presets stop after 15 minutes. Custom scenes come from the Evenflo app. For cleaning, the manual says to machine wash the soft goods separately in cold water on a delicate cycle with no chlorine bleach, tumble dry for 10 to 15 minutes on low heat, and wipe the harness with mild soap and water.

The manual gives 3 to 30 lb and 15.7 to 32 in, with the top of the head at least 1 in below the top of the seat back. Once any limit is exceeded, the seat must not be used.
