This seat suits a vehicle whose floor can take a load leg in the chosen seating position, and parents who want SnugLock and InRight LATCH on the base. The trade-off is that some vehicles do not allow load legs everywhere, and the base is not certified for aircraft. Compared with the SnugFit DLX, it uses a load leg instead of an anti-rebound bar, has 4 recline positions instead of 5, and Graco lists its carrier at 8.4 lb instead of 9.8 lb.

Belt lock-off: SnugLock installation (base). A lock-off clamps the vehicle belt so you do not have to switch the belt's retractor into its locked mode.
Lower anchors: InRight LATCH. Check your vehicle manual for which seating positions have anchors, and switch to the seat belt once the child passes the anchor weight limit in the manual.

What to know before you live with it

Using the load leg

The manual says the load leg adds stability in a collision. You pull it down from under the base, press the extension button and lower the foot until it is locked with firm contact on the vehicle floor, rotated fully forward. The foot must not lift the base off the vehicle seat. The manual warns not to place it on a storage compartment door or a floor where the vehicle maker forbids it, and to check the vehicle manual because some makers do not allow load legs in every seating position. It clicks into the base when stored.

SnugLock installation

The base installs with LATCH or a lap or lap-shoulder belt through the blue-labelled belt path, never both. You open the SnugLock lock-off, remove slack while pressing on the base, then close the lock-off until it clicks. The manual says not to pull with excessive force, or the lock-off will not close. With the lock-off, switching the retractor is not required, but it recommends doing so afterwards to avoid a possible strangulation risk. The base has 4 recline positions, read with the vehicle on level ground. It must not move more than 1 in at the belt path.

Harness, supports and handle

With the child out of the seat and the harness loosened, you squeeze the headrest adjustment button and move the headrest up or down to the right harness height, without rethreading. For smaller babies, the manual has you shorten the headrest by tucking the bottom of its flap under the support. The body support is only for infants 12 lb or less, and harness covers must not stop the chest clip sitting at armpit level. The handle has 4 positions and must lock upright in position A before you lift the carrier.

Cleaning

To remove the cover, you undo the canopy fastening strips and canopy arm releases, pull the headrest pad out from around the straps, unfasten the 4 snaps on the seat pad and pull out the 4 plastic flaps from the sides. The pad and canopy are machine washed in cold water with gentle soap on a delicate cycle and drip dried, with no bleach. The harness and lower anchor strap are surface washed only with mild soap and a damp cloth, never immersed.

Is the SnugRide DLX Infant Car Seat featuring Load Leg Technology recalled?

26C003000: does not cover this model. Campaign 26C-003 covers only the SnugRide Turn & Slide infant seat and the Modes Nest Travel System with SnugRide Turn & Slide, listed in the Part 573 report as nine model numbers on the 8DB platform (8DB00NIR, 8DB00SDA, 8DB00MUB, 8DB49BCK and variants) plus 7DP08NRI, built December 1, 2025 to March 27, 2026, because the turntable base locking hook may let the carrier detach in a crash. The SnugRide DLX with Load Leg (model 2186220) is not named in the report; its manual is for platform 8CN20, not 8DB, and it has no rotating turntable base. Campaign source (read October 7, 2026).
14C004000: does not cover this model. Campaign 14C-004 covers infant seats with the AmSafe QT1 buckle, limited to the SnugRide, SnugRide Classic Connect (including 30 and 35), SnugRide 30, SnugRide 35, SnugRide Click Connect 40 and Aprica A30 built between July 2010 and May 2013 (date range varies by model). Can it be used on a plane?

The manual says the car seat is certified for aircraft only without the base, on forward-facing aircraft seats, using the lap belt installation. The base is not certified for aircraft.

Which strollers work with it?

The manual says to use it only with strollers with the Graco Click Connect logo, never another maker's stroller, and never on a shopping cart.
