The Graco SnugRide Lite LX is a rear-facing infant car seat for babies 4 to 30 lb and 32 inches or less, with the head at least 1 inch below the top. The carrier clicks into a 4-position base installed with LATCH or a seat belt, can be belted in alone, and expires after 7 years.
The Lite LX suits parents who want a light carrier, which Graco lists at 7.5 lb, and are happy with a basic base. The trade-off is that the manual's seat belt install relies on locking the vehicle belt rather than a SnugLock lock-off, and changing harness height means rethreading the straps. The SnugLock LX featuring TrueShield is about as narrow, at 15.51 in, but Graco lists its carrier at 8.0 lb and adds SnugLock and InRight LATCH.

This seat covers one stage. Graco gives it a 7-year life from the date of manufacture, so check the date label before using a hand-me-down.

A child must meet every limit for the mode they use. The labels on your seat and its manual are the final word.
Every install is a fit between one seat and one vehicle. Read both manuals, and use a free inspection station if anything is unclear.

At 15.5 in at its widest, this seat is one of the narrower ones in its class and is a candidate for three across in many mid-size cars. It weighs 7.5 lb, which matters if you will move it between cars or carry it through an airport.
Studio, Lilac Mod.
When they differ, follow the manual and the labels on your seat.
The base installs with the LATCH strap or a lap or lap-shoulder belt routed through the rear-facing belt path with the blue label, never both at once. The manual describes no lock-off for this base. With a seat belt, you switch the retractor to locking mode, or use a locking clip with a sliding latch plate and ELR retractor. At least 80% of the base must sit on the vehicle seat, and a center seat may take LATCH only if the anchors are 11 in or more apart and the vehicle manual allows it. The carrier can also be belted in alone, but not with LATCH. Either way, it should not move more than 1 in at the belt path.
The base has 4 recline positions. You squeeze the recline lever and lift the base to extend the foot, then read the level indicator with the vehicle on level ground. Blue in the clear area means level for infants 0+ months; blue partly in the notched area means level for 3+ months. If the foot is fully extended and the reading is still wrong, the manual allows a rolled towel under the foot. Without the base, the red level line on the side of the carrier must be level with the ground, and rolled towels may go at the seat crease.
This is not a no-rethread harness. To move the straps, you loosen them, unhook both strap loops from the splitter plate at the back, pull them out the front and rethread them at or just below the shoulders. For a smaller baby in the lowest 2 slots, the upper loops on the straps go onto the splitter plate; for a larger baby in the upper 2 slots, the lower loops do. The body support is only for infants 12 lb or less, and the head support comes out when the straps are in the uppermost slots. The handle has 4 positions and must be upright when carrying.
To remove the pad, you loosen the harness, unhook the straps from the splitter plate, pull them out the front, release the 4 plastic flaps on the sides and pull the pad off the shell. The canopy slides off its hoop after you open the latch. The pad and canopy are machine washed in cold water on a delicate cycle and drip dried, with no bleach. The buckle is swished in a cup of warm water without submerging its strap or using soap. The harness and LATCH strap are surface washed only, because soaking may weaken them.
Each campaign naming this family was read against this model’s numbers and build dates, and none covers it. Still check your seat’s model number and date of manufacture before use, especially on a used seat.
The manual gives 4 to 30 lb and 32 inches or less, rear-facing only. It adds that the top of the head must be at least 1 inch below the top of the car seat.
Graco's specifications list the carrier at 7.5 lb without the base and 12.3 lb with the base, while a feature bullet on the same page says 7.2 lb. These are manufacturer figures, not my own measurements.
Yes. The manual says it is certified for aircraft, only on forward-facing aircraft seats, following the vehicle installation steps for a lap belt. It also says to contact the airline for its own policies.
The manual says to use it only with strollers that are part of the Graco Click Connect travel system and never with another manufacturer's stroller. It also warns not to put the carrier on a shopping cart.
Graco lists the SnugLock LX featuring TrueShield at 15.51 in wide with an 8.0 lb carrier, SnugLock installation, InRight LATCH and a base with 4 recline positions. Both share the 4 to 30 lb and 32 in limits.

The manual says to stop using the seat and throw it away 7 years after the date of manufacture, which is on a label on the back of the seat. It must also be replaced after any crash.
