The Graco SnugRide SnugLock LX featuring TrueShield is a rear-facing-only infant seat that Graco lists for 4 to 30 lb and up to 32 in, with the head at least 1 in below the top. Its base has a SnugLock lock-off, InRight LATCH and 4 recline positions, the carrier can be belted in alone, and it expires after 7 years.
It suits parents who want SnugLock installation in a narrow seat: Graco lists it at 15.51 in wide with an 8.0 lb carrier, against 17.5 in and 9.0 lb for the SnugFit LX. The trade-offs are a harness that must be rethreaded to change height and a base with no anti-rebound bar listed in the manual or on the product page. Graco says TrueShield gives side-impact protection from head to hips; the manual only names the TrueShield bolster, and I make no crash-safety claim about it.

This seat covers one stage. Graco gives it a 7-year life from the date of manufacture, so check the date label before using a hand-me-down.

A child must meet every limit for the mode they use. The labels on your seat and its manual are the final word.
Every install is a fit between one seat and one vehicle. Read both manuals, and use a free inspection station if anything is unclear.

At 15.51 in at its widest, this seat is one of the narrower ones in its class and is a candidate for three across in many mid-size cars. It weighs 8 lb, which matters if you will move it between cars or carry it through an airport.
Ion.
The base installs with the LATCH strap or the vehicle seat belt, never both. You push it back until the front of the base touches the vehicle seat back, open the SnugLock lock-off, and route the strap, or the lap part of the belt, through the rear-facing belt path with the blue label, above the notches near the lock-off. Press down on the base while removing the slack, then close the lock-off until it clicks; the manual says the retractor does not need switching when the lock-off holds the belt. A center seat may take LATCH only if the vehicle manual allows it and the anchors are 11 in or more apart. The base should move less than 1 in at the belt path. The manual gives no separate child-weight limit for the lower anchors.

The base has 4 recline positions, set by squeezing the recline lever and lifting the base to extend the foot. On level ground, the blue indicator in the clear area means level for infants 0+ months, and partly in the notched area means level for 3+ months; any blue outside the black lines means the seat is not level. A rolled towel may go under the fully extended foot if needed. Without the base, the carrier is belted in alone with a lap or lap-shoulder belt.

This is not a no-rethread harness. With the straps loose, you unhook each strap loop from the splitter plate at the back, pull it out the front and insert it in the slot at or just below the shoulders. If the shoulders are at or below the lowest 2 slots, the upper loops on the straps go onto the splitter plate; for the upper 2 slots, the lower loops do. The top of the head must be at least 1 in below the top of the seat. The body support may only be used with the bottom 2 sets of harness slots.

Graco says TrueShield gives side-impact protection from head to hips, and that this seat was side-impact tested for occupant retention with the built-in 5-point harness. Those are Graco's statements, not my findings. Graco lists the seat at 15.51 in wide, 19.96 in high and 30.87 in deep, with an 8.0 lb carrier and 14.6 lb with the base. The carrier attaches to Graco Click Connect strollers to make a travel system.

Each campaign naming this family was read against this model’s numbers and build dates, and none covers it. Still check your seat’s model number and date of manufacture before use, especially on a used seat.
Graco's product page lists rear-facing use only, from 4 to 30 lb and up to 32 in, with the head at least 1 in below the top of the seat. If the labels on your seat show a different limit, follow the labels.

The carrier can. The manual certifies it for aircraft only without the base, on forward-facing aircraft seats, following the vehicle lap belt installation. The base is not certified for aircraft.

No. The manual has you unhook each strap from the splitter plate, pull it out the front and thread it into the new slot at or just below the shoulders, then repeat on the other side.

Unhook the straps from the splitter plate, pull out the 4 plastic flaps and pull the pad off the shell; the canopy comes off its hoop. Machine wash the pad and canopy in cold water on a delicate cycle and drip dry, with no bleach. The buckle is swished in warm water without soap.

Graco lists the SnugFit LX with the same limits but at 17.5 in wide with a 9.0 lb carrier, a no-rethread harness, an anti-rebound bar and a 5-position base.
The manual says to stop using it and throw it away 7 years after the date of manufacture, shown on a label on the back of the seat, and to replace it after any crash.
