The clip is only for when the shoulder belt does not lie midway between the neck and shoulder on its own. Thread the looped end of its strap through the anchor point on the back of the base, pass the clip through the loop and pull it tight. Place the booster, attach the clip to the vehicle shoulder belt and pull the adjustment strap until the clip is at or slightly above the child's shoulder. If the belt still crosses the neck or falls off the shoulder, the manual says to try another seat or not use the booster.

The manual describes no lower anchor connectors. It says to keep the booster buckled in with the vehicle belt when nobody is sitting in it, because a loose booster can strike someone in a crash. To clean, unhook the pad's elastic loops and pull down the retainer clips at the front, then machine wash it separately in cold water on a delicate cycle and tumble dry 10 to 15 minutes on low heat.
