What to know before you live with it

Assembly out of the box

The headrest has three posts that push into the backrest until they click; the manual calls this a one-time assembly that may need extra force. The adjustment handle slides onto the back of the headrest, and the adjustment track slides into the backrest while you squeeze the handle. The seat pad hooks onto the headrest and backrest with elastic loops, and onto the base with loops and retainer clips. The backrest then slides onto the base until it clicks. The manual asks you to pull on the headrest and backrest afterward to check that both are secure.

Setting the headrest with the backrest on

With the child sitting with back and bottom flat against the booster, pull and hold the adjustment handle and slide the headrest until the shoulder belt guides are at or slightly above the tops of the shoulders. The shoulder belt goes through the guide and must lie across the middle of the shoulder, and both the lap and shoulder belts pass under the armrest. The lap belt sits low and snug on the hips. If the shoulder belt cannot be made to lie midway between the neck and shoulder, the manual says to try another seat or not use the booster.

Going backless

To remove the backrest, lay the booster on its front and pull the lever under the base. The limits do not change, but the ear tops must now be below the top of the vehicle headrest, and the child's back rests against the vehicle seat. If the shoulder belt does not fall midway between neck and shoulder, attach the included shoulder belt clip to the anchor point on the back of the base. The manual says to store the backrest properly while it is off.

Is the GoTime LX Booster Car Seat recalled?

25C003000: does not cover this model. The Part 573 report covers only Canadian-market seats and travel systems with listed model numbers ending in C (for example 34912258C, 38412311C, 3811198C, 35012433C), listed with production dates January 1, 2018 to December 31, 2024 and shipped to US buyers without a US registration card; the population is defined by those numbers. This product's US model number CS700212415 is not listed; the only GoTime item is the Canadian GoTime Sport 35012433C. Campaign source (read October 7, 2026).

Each campaign naming this family was read against this model’s numbers and build dates, and none covers it. Still check your seat’s model number and date of manufacture before use, especially on a used seat.
