The Chicco MyFit is a forward-facing harness and booster seat. The harness is for children at least 2 years old, 26.5 to 65 lb and 54 in or less. Booster mode is for children at least 4, 40 to 100 lb and 44 to 57 in. Chicco lists it at 17.5 in wide, and the manual gives an 8-year life.
The MyFit suits a child who has outgrown rear-facing and should stay in a harness longer before moving to a booster, in a car where width matters. It never rear-faces, so it does not replace an infant or convertible seat. The MyFit ClearTex has the same limits, width and weight but adds ClearTex flame retardant-free fabric and a zippered seat pad, and the MyFit Air ClearTex adds mesh panels and a flex-forward crotch buckle.

This seat covers 2 stages, and a child has to meet every limit of the stage they are in. Chicco gives it a 8-year life from the date of manufacture, so check the date label before using a hand-me-down.

| Mode | Child weight | Child height | Minimum age | Conditions |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Forward-facing harness | 26.5 to 65 lb | Up to 54 in | 2 years | Manual: harness mode for children at least 2 years old. |
| High-back booster | 40 to 100 lb | 44 to 57 in | 4 years | Product page and manual: at least 4 years old and able to sit still in the seat belt. |
A child must meet every limit for the mode they use. The labels on your seat and its manual are the final word.
Every install is a fit between one seat and one vehicle. Read both manuals, and use a free inspection station if anything is unclear.

At 17.5 in at its widest, this seat is one of the narrower ones in its class and is a candidate for three across in many mid-size cars. It weighs 25 lb, which matters if you will move it between cars or carry it through an airport.
Haven, Iron.
Place the seat so the installation lines on its base are parallel with the vehicle seat, then set the recline so the bubble is between the lines. On a slope, only positions 3 or 4 are allowed. For LATCH, you unsnap the armrest fabric and lift the seat pads to reach the storage compartment, attach both connectors and pull the adjuster while pushing down. LATCH is not allowed for a child over 40 lb, and the top tether is always used when your car has an anchor. With the seat belt, the belt runs through the red path behind the backrest and into the lock-off.

The headrest has 9 positions. A tab on the back of the seat releases it, and it clicks into place. It carries the harness, which should sit at or just above the shoulders, and you may need to loosen the harness before moving the headrest up. The manual says the chest clip pads must always be used in harness mode. The crotch strap has 2 positions, moved through a compartment under the seat pad. The manual also says never to lift or carry the seat by the harness or adjuster strap; carry it by the tether strap or the shell.

The conversion stores the chest clip and buckle tongues in a compartment at the bottom of the seat back, the shoulder pads in a storage compartment, and the crotch buckle in a compartment next to the crotch strap slots. The backrest pad comes off by unhooking its elastic straps and snaps. In booster mode, the lap belt goes under both armrests and the shoulder belt through the orange guide under the headrest. LATCH and tether are optional; if you skip them, buckle the empty seat in. Booster mode needs a lap and shoulder belt, never a lap belt alone.

Soft goods can be hand washed, or machine washed in cold water on a delicate cycle with mild detergent, then hung to dry. Shoulder pads are hand washed. The manual says not to remove the harness straps, chest clip or chest clip pads; the pads are spot cleaned with warm water and mild soap. LATCH and adjuster straps and the buckle get warm water only. Cup holders can go on the top rack of a dishwasher. No bleach, solvents or household cleaners, and never use the seat without its pad.
