Who is the Disney Baby Finale 2-in-1 Booster Car Seat (BC220) for?
The Disney Baby Finale 2-in-1 (BC220) is a forward-facing harness booster for children 40 to 65 lb and 43.4 to 49 in, then a high-back belt-positioning booster for 40 to 100 lb and 43.4 to 52 in. It expires 10 years after manufacture and is certified for aircraft use only with the harness.
Reasons to consider it
A 5-point harness up to 65 lb and 49 in before switching to booster mode
LATCH lower anchors for a child up to 50 lb, then seat belt plus tether up to 65 lb
Aircraft certification in harness mode, on forward-facing aircraft seats
A machine-washable seat pad and a top-rack dishwasher-safe cup holder
Things to weigh up
Booster mode stops at 52 in, while several Safety 1st boosters list 57 in
The harness system must be removed before the pad comes off for washing
Not certified for aircraft use as a booster, because aircraft seats lack shoulder belts
Safety 1st does not publish the seat's width, depth or weight
My take on the Disney Baby Finale 2-in-1 Booster Car Seat (BC220)
The Finale BC220 suits a child of at least 40 lb who still needs a 5-point harness, with a high-back booster mode for later. The trade-off is the 52 in booster height limit, and the pad cannot come off without removing the harness system. It shares its limits with the Finale BC209 and the Grand 2-in-1; the Comfort Ride 3-in-1 starts its harness at 30 lb and lists 57 in for booster use.

Who the Disney Baby Finale 2-in-1 Booster Car Seat (BC220) fits
This seat covers 2 stages, and a child has to meet every limit of the stage they are in. Safety 1st gives it a 10-year life from the date of manufacture, so check the date label before using a hand-me-down.

The child faces forward in the seat’s own harness. Use the top tether every time, and stay in the harness until the child outgrows it.
Belt-positioning booster (high-back)40 to 100 lb · 43.4 to 52 in
The seat’s own back and belt guide route the vehicle belt across the shoulder, and the sides give the child something to lean on when they sleep.

How the Disney Baby Finale 2-in-1 Booster Car Seat (BC220) installs
Harness
5-point harness. Check the harness height at each growth spurt: at or below the shoulders rear-facing, at or above them forward-facing.
Every install is a fit between one seat and one vehicle. Read both manuals, and use a free inspection station if anything is unclear.
Will it fit your car?
Safety 1st does not publish a width for this seat, so measure your back seat and compare it with the seat in a store before buying.
Check your vehicle manual for lower anchor positions and any head-restraint rules.
Rear-facing seats need front-seat room: try the install behind the driver before you commit.
Certified for aircraft use, so it can travel as a seat rather than checked baggage.

What to know before you live with it
Installing it in harness mode
The manual gives three harness-mode methods, all with the top tether: lower anchor belt, lap belt, or lap and shoulder belt. Do not use the lower anchors once the child weighs more than 50 lb; the vehicle belt must be used above that, up to 65 lb. Never use the lower anchor belt and vehicle belt together. A vehicle belt must lock, either through a switchable or automatic locking retractor or a locking latch plate, and the manual lists emergency locking retractor lap-only belts and inflatable belts as never usable. When a tether anchor exists, attach and tighten the tether every time.
The child must stay in harness mode until outgrowing 65 lb, 49 in, or the harness fit rules. The top of the ears must be below the top of the seat, and the shoulder straps must come from slots at the shoulders or slightly above, never below. Changing slots means fully loosening the straps, unhooking both loops from the splitter plate at the back, rethreading them into the right slots, and reattaching them with the sewn ends facing you. The buckle strap must not be under or behind the child. The manual says to check strap wear often and not to use damaged straps.
Booster mode covers 40 to 100 lb and 43.4 to 52 in. The harness system comes off and is stored, and the lower anchor belt and tether must be clipped to their storage points, since LATCH is not used in this mode. Place the seat flush against an upright vehicle seat back. The lap belt goes under both armrests and across the hips and upper thighs, and the shoulder belt goes under the buckle-side armrest only. Do not use it if the top of the ears is above the seat or the head is less than 5 in from the roof. Keep it belted when empty.
The harness system must be removed before the pad comes off; then the elastic straps are released from tabs on the back of the shell and the pad pulls off. Machine wash the pad separately in cold water on a gentle cycle without bleach, and tumble dry separately for 10 to 12 minutes on low heat, removing it immediately. Spot clean the harness straps and the shell with warm sudsy water, and do not submerge the buckle. The manual says not to lubricate a sticking buckle or release lever, and to clean out debris instead.
Is the Disney Baby Finale 2-in-1 Booster Car Seat (BC220) recalled?
No campaign in the current NHTSA child-restraint data names this model family, and I have not run a separate review for it. Check your seat’s model number and date of manufacture before use.
Only in harness mode and only up to a child weight of 50 lb. Above 50 lb, the manual says to install with the vehicle belt plus tether, and LATCH is not used at all in booster mode.
It is certified for aircraft use with the internal harness, on forward-facing aircraft seats, installed without the tether steps. It is not certified as a booster, because aircraft seats do not have shoulder belts.
The manual says not to use it more than 10 years after the date of manufacture, which is on a label on the side of the seat. It must be replaced after a moderate to severe crash.
Safety 1st lists the same limits for the BC209: 40 to 65 lb and 43.4 to 49 in with the harness, and 40 to 100 lb and 43.4 to 52 in as a booster. The BC209 page also lists a removable Disney mouse ears head pillow.
