The Disney Baby Rise LX is a backless booster for children 40 to 100 lb and 43.4 to 57 in. It uses only the vehicle lap and shoulder belt, has covered higher armrests and a wide base, and the manual says not to use it more than 10 years after manufacture. It is not certified for aircraft use.
The Rise LX suits an older child who fits the vehicle belt well with a little lift and whose seat has a headrest at or above ear level. The trade-off is that it is backless only, so head and side support depend on the vehicle. Center the booster in a forward-facing seat with the vehicle seat back upright. The child sits with back flat against the vehicle seat. The lap portion goes under both armrests and across the upper thighs and hips, not the stomach, and the shoulder belt goes under the buckle-side armrest only. Do not use it if the top of the child's ears is above the vehicle seat back or headrest, or if the head is less than 5 in below the roof. Lap-only and inflatable belts are not allowed, and the booster must stay belted when empty.

The manual is direct about this: by design a backless booster has no back or headrest, it helps position the vehicle belt, and any added protection of the body or head depends on the vehicle's own systems. It asks parents to consider that when choosing the seating position. It also says rear seats are statistically safer for children than front seats, and that some vehicles have no seating position that works with this booster. Starting from the front, pull the pad off the shell and over the armrests. Machine wash separately in cold water on a gentle cycle, then tumble dry separately for 10 to 12 minutes on low heat and remove it immediately; no bleach, harsh cleaners or dry cleaning. Do not use the booster without the pad. The instruction sheet folds and stores under the pad. The date of manufacture is on the bottom, and the manual says not to use it after 10 years or after any crash.
