Who is the Grow and Go 2-in-1 Belt-Positioning Booster Car Seat featuring ComfortWings for?
The Grow and Go 2-in-1 with ComfortWings is a belt-positioning booster for children 40 to 100 lb and 43.4 to 57 in, used high-back or backless with the same limits. As the headrest rises, the backrest wings expand to 19 in total width. It expires after 10 years and is not certified for aircraft.
Reasons to consider it
High-back and backless use at 40 to 100 lb and 43.4 to 57 in
Backrest wings that widen as the headrest rises, to 19 in total seat width
A belt-positioning clip stored under the base for backless mode
A pad that is machine washable and two top-rack dishwasher-safe cup holders
Things to weigh up
The wings expand to 19 in total width as the headrest rises, which may crowd a narrow seat
The product page lists 10 headrest positions, but the manual says seven
No LATCH, so it must stay belted even when empty
Not certified for aircraft use, because aircraft seats lack shoulder belts
My take on the Grow and Go 2-in-1 Belt-Positioning Booster Car Seat featuring ComfortWings
This seat suits a child who has outgrown a harness and fits the lap and shoulder belt with a booster, with a backless mode for later. The trade-off is width: the wings reach 19 in as the headrest rises, which matters in a tight back seat. Compared with the Store 'n Go Sport, which has the same 40 to 100 lb and 43.4 to 57 in limits, the Grow and Go adds expanding wings but has no storage drawer.

Who the Grow and Go 2-in-1 Belt-Positioning Booster Car Seat featuring ComfortWings fits
This seat covers 2 stages, and a child has to meet every limit of the stage they are in. Safety 1st gives it a 10-year life from the date of manufacture, so check the date label before using a hand-me-down.
Belt-positioning booster (high-back)40 to 100 lb · 43.4 to 57 in
The seat’s own back and belt guide route the vehicle belt across the shoulder, and the sides give the child something to lean on when they sleep.
Backless booster40 to 100 lb · 43.4 to 57 in
Only the base is left, so the vehicle seat has to support the child’s back and head, and the belt guide sits at the hip.

What to know before you live with it
Assembling it and adjusting the headrest
Out of the box, the backrest attaches by pressing both sides of a center button to retract the inner pegs, hooking the backrest over the outer pegs in the base, then lifting it until it clicks upright. The headrest moves by squeezing its adjustment handle, and the backrest wings expand as it rises. The manual says the headrest has seven height positions; choose the one that meets the high-back fit requirements. In high-back mode, the top of the child's ears must not be above the top of the headrest, and the shoulder belt runs through the guide in the headrest.
Place the booster forward-facing with the vehicle seat back upright, adjusted slightly if needed to match the booster. If the vehicle headrest stops it sitting flush, the manual says to check whether that headrest can be removed or adjusted, or to use another seat. The lap belt goes under both armrests and across the hips, not the stomach. The shoulder belt goes under the buckle-side armrest only and across the center of the shoulder. Do not use it if the child's head is less than 5 in below the roof. Lap-only and inflatable belts are not allowed.
To go backless, push the backrest down until it lies flat, then press the center button and lift it off the base. The limits stay 40 to 100 lb and 43.4 to 57 in, but the top of the ears must not be above the vehicle seat's headrest. A belt-positioning clip on a strap is stored under the base. Use it only when needed to place the shoulder belt correctly: clip it to the shoulder belt, pull it up to the top of the shoulder, and adjust the strap so the shoulder is even with the bottom of the clip. Store the clip before refitting the backrest.
The pad set comes off in four steps: the backrest pad, the headrest pad, the two wing pads and the seat base pad, each held by elastic straps to tabs on the back or under the base. Raising or lowering the headrest can make removal easier. Turn the pads inside out, machine wash them separately in cold water on a gentle cycle without bleach, and tumble dry separately for 10 to 12 minutes on low heat, removing them immediately. Spot clean with warm sudsy water and a damp cloth, and do not submerge any part of the seat. The manual warns against using the seat without its pad.

The manual says not to use it more than 10 years after the date of manufacture, shown on a label on the bottom of the seat. It must be replaced after a moderate to severe crash.
Yes. The manual says the booster must be firmly secured with the vehicle seat belt even when unoccupied, because an unsecured booster could injure occupants in a crash or sudden stop.
