What to know before you live with it

How the 9 height positions work

The manual says the backrest and headrest move together through 5 height positions. Once at the top one, you release and lift the adjustment lever again to raise the headrest alone into 4 more positions, for 9 in total. With the back on, the child sits with their back flat against the booster, and the shoulder belt threads through the guide in the headrest. The belt guides should be even with or just above the shoulders. The lap belt goes in front of both armrests and low across the hips, and the shoulder belt goes under the armrest on the buckle side.

Lower anchors and the backless mode

Graco allows the lower anchors in booster mode regardless of the child's weight up to 110 lb, but the child must still be secured with the vehicle lap and shoulder belt. Press the button on the front of the base to extend the straps, attach them untwisted, then push on the booster while pulling the straps to remove slack. To go backless, recline and remove the backrest, undo the two snaps on top of the base, tuck the fabric flap under the seat cover and snap it back. Without the back, the child's ears must be below the top of the vehicle seat back or headrest.

Taking the covers off

The covers come off in three parts. For the headrest, raise it, undo 2 snaps and 2 elastic loops, and pull the cover off. The seat back cover has 4 snaps. For the seat bottom, undo 6 snaps underneath, then the two snaps on top of the base, and remove the cup holder by pinching its 2 tabs. Machine wash each cover in cold water on a delicate cycle and drip-dry, without bleach. The cup holder is dishwasher safe on the top rack. The lower anchor straps are surface wash only.

Is the TurboBooster Stretch2Fit Booster Seat recalled?

16C004000: does not cover this model. Campaign 16C-004 is defined by TurboBooster model numbers 1963973, 1963974, 1963975, 1963976, 1967886 and 1975173, built December 22, 2015 to April 5, 2016, whose instructions lacked a belting warning.
