Who is the Nautilus 2.0 3-in-1 Harness Booster Car Seat for?
The Graco Nautilus 2.0 is a forward-facing 3-in-1 seat: a 5-point harness for children 26.5 to 65 lb and up to 49 in, then a high-back booster to 100 lb or a backless booster to 120 lb for children 43 to 57 in and at least 4 years old. It lasts 10 years after manufacture.
Reasons to consider it
A backless booster mode rated to 120 lb
A 10-position headrest that moves the harness with it, and 4 recline positions
Aircraft certification in harness mode
A belt positioning clip for the backless booster when the shoulder belt sits outside the marked zone
Things to weigh up
Forward-facing only, from 26.5 lb, 27 in and at least one year old
LATCH is only for a child up to 45 lb in harness mode
No lock-off, so a seat belt install means locking the vehicle belt
Adult assembly is required, and the cup holders must be installed
My take on the Nautilus 2.0 3-in-1 Harness Booster Car Seat
It suits a family moving a child out of a rear-facing seat that wants one seat through the backless booster stage. It is forward-facing only, and the manual asks for a child at least one year old and 27 in tall for the harness. It installs with hook-style lower anchor connectors or a locked seat belt, with no lock-off, plus the top tether. The Nautilus 2.0 LX has the same limits with InRight LATCH, at 17.4 lb against 17.8 lb.

Who the Nautilus 2.0 3-in-1 Harness Booster Car Seat fits
This seat covers 3 stages, and a child has to meet every limit of the stage they are in. Graco gives it a 10-year life from the date of manufacture, so check the date label before using a hand-me-down.
Forward-facing harness26.5 to 65 lb · Up to 49 in
The child faces forward in the seat’s own harness. Use the top tether every time, and stay in the harness until the child outgrows it.
High-back booster40 to 100 lb · 43 to 57 in · from 4 years
The seat’s own back and belt guide route the vehicle belt across the shoulder, and the sides give the child something to lean on when they sleep.
Backless booster40 to 120 lb · 43 to 57 in · from 4 years
Only the base is left, so the vehicle seat has to support the child’s back and head, and the belt guide sits at the hip.

How the Nautilus 2.0 3-in-1 Harness Booster Car Seat installs
Lower anchors
Hook latch for booster. Check your vehicle manual for which seating positions have anchors, and switch to the seat belt once the child passes the anchor weight limit in the manual.
Recline
4 recline positions. The recline angle is what keeps a young baby’s airway open, so set it before tightening the install.
Every install is a fit between one seat and one vehicle. Read both manuals, and use a free inspection station if anything is unclear.
Will it fit your car?
At 19.4 in at its widest, measure your back seat before counting on three across. It weighs 17.8 lb, which matters if you will move it between cars or carry it through an airport.
Check your vehicle manual for lower anchor positions and any head-restraint rules.
Rear-facing seats need front-seat room: try the install behind the driver before you commit.
Aircraft certification is printed on the seat’s own label; check before you fly.

What to know before you live with it
Installing for the harness
With LATCH, which is only for a child up to 45 lb, you place the seat forward-facing, pick one of the 4 recline positions, attach the lower anchor connectors and tighten the strap while pressing down in the center. The vehicle's lower anchors must be 11 in apart, center to center. With a seat belt, the connectors clip onto plastic bars, the belt goes through the forward-facing belt path with the orange label, and you lock it, in most vehicles by pulling the shoulder belt all the way out and letting it retract. Both methods add the top tether. At least 80% of the base must be on the vehicle seat, with less than 1 in of movement at the belt path. A lap-only belt may be used in harness mode only.
The manual says children 26.5 to 40 lb who can sit upright unassisted must use the harness, and children 40 to 65 lb should. Straps go at or just above the shoulders, with the tops of the ears below the top of the headrest. You raise or lower the headrest with the adjustment lever, and the harness height moves with it. The buckle strap moves between slots from under the seat, and the chest clip sits at armpit level.
For the high-back booster, you remove the harness from the splitter plate and the T-slots, store the buckle, put the splitter plate on the base, and set the seat in its most upright position. The child is held only by a lap and shoulder belt, with the shoulder belt through the headrest guide and the lap belt low on the hips; never a lap-only belt. Graco allows LATCH in booster mode up to 100 lb if the vehicle maker allows it. For the backless booster, the backrest slides off, the child's ears must be below the top of the vehicle seat back or headrest, and the belt positioning clip is used only if the shoulder belt lies outside the marked zone.
The headrest, backrest and seat pads come off with snaps and elastic loops and are machine washed in cold water on a delicate cycle and drip dried, with no bleach. The buckle is removed from under the seat and swished in a cup of warm water while pressing the red button, without soap and without submerging its strap. The harness, lower anchor strap and tether are surface washed only, because soaking may weaken them.
Is the Nautilus 2.0 3-in-1 Harness Booster Car Seat recalled?
14C001000: does not cover this model. Campaign 14C-001 covers seats with AmSafe Signature, QT or QT3 buckles, including the Nautilus 3-in-1, Nautilus Plus and Nautilus Elite built October 1, 2007 to July 31, 2013 (and some on August 19, 2013). The Nautilus 2.0 (model 2214354) is a later generation that is not named in the notice or the NHTSA campaign record (which list the Nautilus, Nautilus 3-in-1, Nautilus Plus and Nautilus Elite), so it is not one of those units. Campaign source (read ).
Each campaign naming this family was read against this model’s numbers and build dates, and none covers it. Still check your seat’s model number and date of manufacture before use, especially on a used seat.
Nautilus 2.0 3-in-1 Harness Booster Car Seat: common questions
What are the Nautilus 2.0 weight and height limits?
Graco lists the forward-facing harness for 26.5 to 65 lb up to 49 in, the high-back booster for 40 to 100 lb, and the backless booster for 40 to 120 lb. Both booster modes need a child 43 to 57 in tall and at least 4 years old.
Only with the harness. The manual certifies it for aircraft with the internal harness on forward-facing aircraft seats, installed like the vehicle seat belt method but without the tether. It is not certified as a booster, because aircraft do not have shoulder belts.
The manual says not to use the lower anchors for a child over 45 lb in harness mode; above that, install with the vehicle seat belt and the tether. In booster mode, LATCH may hold the seat up to 100 lb if the vehicle maker allows it.
How is the Nautilus 2.0 different from the Nautilus 2.0 LX?
Graco lists the LX with the same three modes and limits, 19.4 in wide, with InRight LATCH, a 10-position headrest, 4 recline positions and a 17.4 lb product weight.
The manual says to stop using it and throw it away 10 years after the date of manufacture, shown on a label on the bottom of the seat, and to replace it after any crash.

Before you buy
Weigh and measure your child. The limits above are the manufacturer’s, and a child has to meet all of them for the mode they will use.
Confirm the exact version. Colors, retail exclusives and model numbers change limits more often than you would expect; Graco lists 2 colors of this seat.
Read the manual before you buy, not after. It is linked above and holds the fit rules, the install methods and the expiry.
Check recalls by model number and date of manufacture, and register the seat with Graco so you hear about the next one.
