My take on the Tranzitions 3-in-1 Harness Booster
It suits a child who has outgrown rear-facing and a family that wants a light seat: Graco lists it at 14 lb. The trade-offs are a 7-year life, an 8-position headrest and a backless mode that stops at 100 lb. The Nautilus 2.0 has the same harness limits, and Graco lists it with a 10-year life, a 10-position headrest, 4 recline positions and a backless booster to 120 lb.

Who the Tranzitions 3-in-1 Harness Booster fits
This seat covers 3 stages, and a child has to meet every limit of the stage they are in. Graco gives it a 7-year life from the date of manufacture, so check the date label before using a hand-me-down.
Forward-facing harness26.5 to 65 lb · Up to 49 in
The child faces forward in the seat’s own harness. Use the top tether every time, and stay in the harness until the child outgrows it.
High-back booster40 to 100 lb · 43 to 57 in · from 4 years
The seat’s own back and belt guide route the vehicle belt across the shoulder, and the sides give the child something to lean on when they sleep.
Backless booster40 to 100 lb · 43 to 57 in · from 4 years
Only the base is left, so the vehicle seat has to support the child’s back and head, and the belt guide sits at the hip.

What to know before you live with it
Installing it in harness mode
In harness mode the seat faces forward in the back seat, with the lower anchor attachment or vehicle belt through the belt path with the orange label. Attach and tighten the tether. Do not use LATCH for a child over 45 lb, and never attach two LATCH hooks to one vehicle lower anchor bar. The seat should not move more than 1 in at the belt path. Harness straps go even with or just above the shoulders, the chest clip at armpit level, and the top of the ears below the top of the headrest. The manual warns against bulky coats under the harness.
For booster mode you loosen the harness and remove the straps from the metal splitter plate behind the seat. The lap belt runs low on the hips, in front of the armrest in the booster's belt path, and the shoulder belt sits between the neck and the edge of the shoulder. Never use a lap-only belt. LATCH can hold the booster in place up to 100 lb only if the vehicle manufacturer allows it. For the backless booster, remove the back support and store it with the harness straps. The front of the booster must not hang over the vehicle seat.
The manual says to refer to the seat pad care tag. Removing the headrest cover or seat cover means taking out the harness and buckle strap first; the seat cover also unsnaps from the seat back. Machine wash covers in cold water on a delicate cycle and drip-dry, without bleach. The harness and lower anchor strap are surface wash only with mild soap; do not immerse them. Clean the buckle in warm water without soap or lubricant. Stop using the seat and throw it away 7 years after the date of manufacture.
Is the Tranzitions 3-in-1 Harness Booster recalled?
No campaign in the current NHTSA child-restraint data names this model family, and I have not run a separate review for it. Check your seat’s model number and date of manufacture before use.
Tranzitions 3-in-1 Harness Booster: common questions
What are the Tranzitions weight and height limits?
Harness mode is 26.5 to 65 lb and 49 in or less, for a child at least 1 year old. The highback and backless boosters are both 40 to 100 lb and 43 to 57 in, for children at least 4.
Graco's specifications list a product weight of 14 lb and, separately, a car seat weight with base of 20 lb. It is 19 in wide, 17.4 in deep and 26.5 in tall.
It is certified for aircraft only with the internal harness, on forward-facing aircraft seats, without the top tether. It is not certified as a booster because aircraft have no shoulder belts.
How is the Tranzitions different from the Nautilus 2.0?
The Nautilus 2.0 has the same 26.5 to 65 lb harness mode, but Graco lists its backless booster to 120 lb, a 10-position headrest, 4 recline positions and 10 years of use. Graco lists it at 17.8 lb.

Before you buy
Weigh and measure your child. The limits above are the manufacturer’s, and a child has to meet all of them for the mode they will use.
Confirm the exact version. Colors, retail exclusives and model numbers change limits more often than you would expect; Graco lists 4 colors of this seat.
Read the manual before you buy, not after. It is linked above and holds the fit rules, the install methods and the expiry.
Check recalls by model number and date of manufacture, and register the seat with Graco so you hear about the next one.
