Who is the TurboBooster 2.0 Backless Booster for?
The Graco TurboBooster 2.0 Backless is a belt-positioning booster with no back and no LATCH. The manual gives one mode: 40 to 100 lb, 43 to 57 in. and at least 4 years old, using the vehicle's lap and shoulder belt. It is not certified for aircraft use as a booster and expires 10 years after manufacture.
Reasons to consider it
A light booster: Graco lists it at 5.1 lb
Children 40 to 100 lb and 43 to 57 in. who are at least 4 years old
A belt positioning clip for when the shoulder belt falls outside the marked zone
A cover that comes off with elastic loops and hooks and machine washes cold on delicate
Things to weigh up
No back or head support, so the child's ears must be below the top of the vehicle seat back or headrest
No LATCH, so the empty booster must stay buckled with the seat belt
Not certified for aircraft use as a booster, because aircraft do not have shoulder belts
Graco does not publish a width for model 2184500
My take on the TurboBooster 2.0 Backless Booster
It suits an older child who has moved out of a harness and rides in a seat with a lap and shoulder belt and a vehicle head restraint above the ears. The main trade-off is that nothing holds the empty booster to the vehicle seat except the seat belt, so the manual says to buckle it in even when nobody is sitting in it. The closest sibling, the TurboBooster LX Backless, is listed for the same 40 to 100 lb and 43 to 57 in. but adds lower anchor connectors.

How the TurboBooster 2.0 Backless Booster installs
Lower anchors
No LATCH. Check your vehicle manual for which seating positions have anchors, and switch to the seat belt once the child passes the anchor weight limit in the manual.
Every install is a fit between one seat and one vehicle. Read both manuals, and use a free inspection station if anything is unclear.
Will it fit your car?
Graco does not publish a width for this seat, so measure your back seat and compare it with the seat in a store before buying. It weighs 5.1 lb, which matters if you will move it between cars or carry it through an airport.
Check your vehicle manual for lower anchor positions and any head-restraint rules.
Rear-facing seats need front-seat room: try the install behind the driver before you commit.
Aircraft certification is printed on the seat’s own label; check before you fly.

What to know before you live with it
How the vehicle belt goes on
The manual allows one belt type: a lap and shoulder belt. Lap-only belts, motorized shoulder belts and belts mounted on the door cannot be used. The child sits with their back flat against the vehicle seat back. The lap portion goes under both armrests and lies low across the hips and thighs. The shoulder belt goes under the armrest on the buckle side and crosses the shoulder in the red zone between the neck and the edge of the shoulder. The belt must never go over the armrests, under the arm or behind the back. If the child will not keep the belt in place, the manual says to use a different car seat.
If the shoulder belt lies outside the red zone, the manual says you must use the belt positioning clip. Its loop end threads through a slot on the bottom of the base, the clip and strap pass through the loop, and the free end faces the front of the seat. After buckling the child in, slide the clip onto the shoulder belt, then lengthen or shorten the strap until the clip sits right at the top of the shoulder. The lap belt still has to lie low across the hips.
The base should sit as flat as possible on the vehicle seat, and its front must not hang over the front edge of the vehicle seat. The manual rules out rear-facing and side-facing vehicle seats and any position with a lap-only belt. It points out that a center rear seat sometimes has only a lap belt, which cannot be used with this booster. It also says to place the booster forward-facing in the vehicle back seat, and to read the vehicle owner's manual before choosing a position.
On select models an adult attaches the armrests and sets their height with a screw. To change the height later, remove the screw, press the button on the side of the base, move the armrest and refit the screw, then pull up to check it is secure. For cleaning, follow the seat pad care tag. The cover comes off by releasing its elastic loops and hooks. Sponge it with mild soap and cool water, or machine wash it in cold water on a delicate cycle and drip-dry. Do not use bleach.

TurboBooster 2.0 Backless Booster: common questions
What are the TurboBooster 2.0 Backless weight and height limits?
The manual gives 40 to 100 lb and 43 to 57 in., and the child must be at least 4 years old. The child's ears must also be below the top of the vehicle seat back or headrest.
No. The manual secures it only with the vehicle lap and shoulder belt, and says to keep it buckled even when it is empty, because an unsecured seat can injure occupants in a crash.
The manual says to stop using it and throw it away 10 years after the date of manufacture, which is on a label on the back. It must also be replaced after any crash.
How is it different from the TurboBooster LX Backless?
Graco lists the TurboBooster LX Backless for 40 to 100 lb and 43 to 57 in., with front-adjust LATCH. It lists that seat at 17.5 in. wide, with a product weight of 5.56 lb.

Confirm the exact version. Colors, retail exclusives and model numbers change limits more often than you would expect; Graco lists 9 colors of this seat.
Read the manual before you buy, not after. It is linked above and holds the fit rules, the install methods and the expiry.
