The Crosstown (CC415) is an all-in-one seat: rear-facing from 5 to 40 lb and 19 to 40 in., forward-facing with the harness from 30 to 65 lb and 34.4 to 49 in., and a booster from 40 to 100 lb and 43.4 to 52 in. Safety 1st lists it at 19.5 in. wide, and it expires after 10 years.
It suits a back seat where width matters, because Safety 1st publishes its width, 19.5 in. The trade-off is adjustment: the manual lists only 2 positions, one reclined position for both harnessed modes and one upright position for booster mode, set with a fold-out booster kickstand. The TriFit (CC407) lists the same ranges with a 3-position base, but its page gives no width.

This seat covers 3 stages, and a child has to meet every limit of the stage they are in. Safety 1st gives it a 10-year life from the date of manufacture, so check the date label before using a hand-me-down.

Every install is a fit between one seat and one vehicle. Read both manuals, and use a free inspection station if anything is unclear.
At 19.5 in at its widest, measure your back seat before counting on three across.

The manual says the seat has 2 positions. Rear-facing and forward-facing both use Position 1, reclined, with the booster kickstand folded into its storage area under the seat. Booster mode uses Position 2, upright, with the kickstand rotated out and locked; a round tab on the side releases it. In the reclined position, the appropriate level line for the child must be parallel with the ground. Rear-facing, the manual allows a tightly rolled towel or foam pool noodle under the front of the seat, only if necessary, checked often.

The base must be flat on the vehicle seat, and in a passenger or driver-side position the car seat must touch the back of the seat in front or be as close as possible. For a child 5 to 30 lb and 19 to 34.3 in., the bottom level line must be parallel with the ground. For a child 30 to 40 lb and 34.4 to 40 in. who can sit up unassisted, the top level line applies. The top of the child's head must be at least 1 in. below the top of the headrest. The optional body pillow is for rear-facing only.

Forward-facing, the back and bottom of the seat should sit flat against the vehicle seat back and bottom, and the Forward-Facing Level Line must be parallel with the ground. The manual allows the vehicle belt with the tether for a child up to 65 lb, or the lower anchor belt with the tether, which must not be used for a child over 55 lb. If a vehicle headrest stops the seat from sitting flush, the manual says to check whether it can be removed or adjusted, or to use another seating position.

For booster use the harness system is stored and the manual says to keep the harness strap, chest clip and buckle with its tongues somewhere safe. Only the vehicle lap and shoulder belt is used, with LATCH and the tether stored. The seat back must be flush against the vehicle seat back. The pad comes off without removing the harness; machine wash it separately in cold water on a gentle cycle, no bleach, and tumble dry separately for 10 to 12 minutes on low heat. The seat must not be used more than 10 years after manufacture.

No campaign in the current NHTSA child-restraint data names this model family, and I have not run a separate review for it. Check your seat’s model number and date of manufacture before use.

It has 2 positions rather than a recline handle. Rear-facing and forward-facing use the reclined position with the booster kickstand stored, and booster mode uses the upright position with the kickstand out.

Forward-facing, the manual says not to install with the lower anchor belt for a child weighing more than 55 lb. Use the vehicle belt with the tether from there to 65 lb.

The manual says it is certified for aircraft use with the internal harness, on forward-facing aircraft seats. It is not certified as a booster, because aircraft seats have no shoulder belts.
