Who is the Disney Baby Grow and Go All-in-One Convertible Car Seat (CC411) for?

The Disney Baby Grow and Go (CC411) is a licensed, non-rotating all-in-one seat: rear-facing for 5 to 40 lb and 19 to 40 in., forward-facing for 30 to 65 lb and 34.4 to 49 in., and booster for 40 to 100 lb and 43.4 to 52 in. It is aircraft certified with the harness and expires after 10 years.

Reasons to consider it

  • A seat pad that snaps off without removing the harness

Things to weigh up

  • Only 3 recline positions, and Position 1 is not for rear-facing
  • Lower anchors are not used above 55 lb or in booster mode
  • No published seat weight or width

My take on the Disney Baby Grow and Go All-in-One Convertible Car Seat (CC411)

It suits a family that wants the Grow and Go in a Mickey or Minnie print and may fly with the seat in harness mode. Its manual gives the same limits, installation rules, recline positions and washing steps as the standard Grow and Go, so the choice is about print and price. The Disney Baby Turn and Go 360 lists the same limits but rotates, and its page publishes no expiry or aircraft status.

Who the Disney Baby Grow and Go All-in-One Convertible Car Seat (CC411) fits

This seat covers 3 stages, and a child has to meet every limit of the stage they are in. Safety 1st gives it a 10-year life from the date of manufacture, so check the date label before using a hand-me-down.

Rear-facing harness5 to 40 lb · 19 to 40 in
The child faces the back of the car, which keeps the head, neck and spine supported in a frontal crash. Keep this mode as long as the child fits it.
Forward-facing harness30 to 65 lb · 34.4 to 49 in
The child faces forward in the seat’s own harness. Use the top tether every time, and stay in the harness until the child outgrows it.
Belt-positioning booster (high-back)40 to 100 lb · 43.4 to 52 in
The seat’s own back and belt guide route the vehicle belt across the shoulder, and the sides give the child something to lean on when they sleep.

How the Disney Baby Grow and Go All-in-One Convertible Car Seat (CC411) installs

Recline
3 recline positions. The recline angle is what keeps a young baby’s airway open, so set it before tightening the install.
Harness
QuickFit no-rethread headrest/harness. Check the harness height at each growth spurt: at or below the shoulders rear-facing, at or above them forward-facing.

Every install is a fit between one seat and one vehicle. Read both manuals, and use a free inspection station if anything is unclear.

  • Check your vehicle manual for lower anchor positions and any head-restraint rules.
  • Rear-facing seats need front-seat room: try the install behind the driver before you commit.

What to know before you live with it

Installation in each mode

Rear-facing, the seat goes in with the lower anchor belt or the vehicle belt through the rear-facing belt path, and the tether is not used. Forward-facing with the harness, attach the tether whenever anchors are available. The manual says not to use the lower anchors for a child over 55 lb; above that, use the vehicle belt. Never use the lower anchor belt and the vehicle belt together. In booster mode, LATCH is not used and the lower anchor belt and tether go to their storage spots. The seat should not move more than 1 in. at the belt path.

Recline, level lines and the infant pillows

Use recline Position 3 or 2 rear-facing; the manual says not to use Position 1 rear-facing. Forward-facing and booster use Position 1. The bottom level line is for children 5 to 30 lb and 19 to 34.3 in., and the top line for 30 to 40 lb and 34.4 to 40 in. who sit up unassisted. The head and body pillows must be used together, and the headrest must be in its lowest position when using the lower shoulder harness slots. Both pillows are for optional use in rear-facing mode only.

Flying, booster fit and washing

The manual certifies the seat for aircraft only with the internal harness. Use a window seat, only on forward-facing aircraft seats, and ask for a belt extender if the lap belt is too short. As a booster, use the vehicle lap and shoulder belt, keep it belted when empty, and stop if the ears are above the headrest or the head is less than 5 in. below the roof. Machine wash the pad cold on a gentle cycle with the harness cover strips closed, without bleach, then tumble dry on low for 10 to 12 minutes.

Compared with the standard Grow and Go

The standard Grow and Go (CC409) page lists the same three modes and limits: rear-facing 5 to 40 lb and 19 to 40 in., forward-facing 30 to 65 lb and 34.4 to 49 in., and booster 40 to 100 lb and 43.4 to 52 in. It also lists the QuickFit harness, harness holders, 3-position recline and a washable seat pad. The Disney Baby version comes in Disney prints and has its own model number and manual.

Before you buy

  1. Weigh and measure your child. The limits above are the manufacturer’s, and a child has to meet all of them for the mode they will use.
