The Graco 4Ever DLX Grad 5-in-1 Slim adds a seat belt trainer to the 4Ever range. It is rear-facing from 4 to 40 lb, forward-facing with the harness from 26.5 to 65 lb, as a high-back booster to 100 lb, a backless booster to 120 lb, and a belt trainer from 50 to 120 lb. It expires after 10 years.
It suits a family that wants one seat to cover the stage after a backless booster, for a child at least 5 years old and up to 60 in tall. Graco lists it at 18 in wide, and it installs with SnugLock lock-offs like the DLX Slim. The trainer is a separate part that must stay installed rear-facing and come out for forward-facing and booster use, so it is one more piece to keep track of.

This seat covers 5 stages, and a child has to meet every limit of the stage they are in. Graco gives it a 10-year life from the date of manufacture, so check the date label before using a hand-me-down.

A child must meet every limit for the mode they use. The labels on your seat and its manual are the final word.
Every install is a fit between one seat and one vehicle. Read both manuals, and use a free inspection station if anything is unclear.
At 18 in at its widest, measure your back seat before counting on three across. It weighs 24.1 lb, which matters if you will move it between cars or carry it through an airport.

The trainer is a low seat that lifts off the main seat after you pull the lever on its front. For trainer mode, you rotate its seat belt guides out and place it flat and forward-facing on the vehicle seat. The child sits with their back flat against the vehicle seat, and their ears must be below the top of the vehicle seat back or headrest. The lap belt goes through both belt guides and the shoulder belt through the guide on the buckle side. A shoulder belt positioning clip, kept behind a storage door, is used only if the belt lies outside the marked zone.
Rear-facing covers 4 to 40 lb, with the head at least 1 in below the headrest adjustment handle, and both the trainer and the seat insert installed. The infant head and back support and lower body support are for children under 20 lb. Forward-facing covers 26.5 to 65 lb and 49 in or less, in recline position 4 or 5 under 40 lb and position 6 over 40 lb, with the trainer removed. LATCH is not used forward-facing for a child over 45 lb. SnugLock lock-offs close over the lower anchor strap or the vehicle belt in both directions.
The high-back and backless booster modes need a child at least 4 years old and 43 to 57 in tall, at 40 to 100 lb and 40 to 120 lb. In backless mode the seat must stay in recline position 6, pushed back until it touches the vehicle seat back. Over 65 lb, the manual says the child must be in a booster or trainer mode. On a plane, the seat is certified only with the harness and without the lock-off, on a forward-facing aircraft seat. Booster and trainer modes are not certified, because aircraft have no shoulder belts.
No campaign in the current NHTSA child-restraint data names this model family, and I have not run a separate review for it. Check your seat’s model number and date of manufacture before use.
It is a fifth mode for a child at least 5 years old, 50 to 120 lb and 43 to 60 in tall, using the vehicle lap and shoulder belt. The trainer lifts off the main seat and sits flat on the vehicle seat.

Graco lists the DLX Slim at 18.9 in wide and 27.5 lb with four modes, ending with a backless booster at 40 to 120 lb. It has no seat belt trainer mode.
