The Graco SlimFit LX 3-in-1 is an all-in-one seat used rear-facing from 5 to 40 lb, forward-facing from 26.5 to 65 lb up to 49 in, and as a highback booster from 40 to 100 lb and 43 to 57 in from age 4. It adds myPocket storage and a RapidRemove cover, and expires after 10 years.
Reasons to consider it
A Rapid Remove cover that Graco says comes off in 60 seconds without uninstalling the seat
Removable myPocket storage pockets that go in the wash
Rotating cup holders that Graco says make the seat 10% slimmer, at 19.9 in wide
Harness to 65 lb and 49 in, then a highback booster to 100 lb
Things to weigh up
Graco lists it at 21.5 lb, against 19.47 lb for the plain SlimFit
The vehicle belt or lower anchor strap must not lie on top of the myPocket pockets
Lower anchors are not for a child over 45 lb forward-facing
Not certified for aircraft in booster mode
My take on the SlimFit LX 3-in-1 Car Seat
It suits the same family as the plain SlimFit, with fabrics that are easier to get off: Graco says the Rapid Remove cover comes off in 60 seconds without uninstalling the seat or removing the harness. Limits, the 19.9 in width and the 4 recline positions match the SlimFit. Graco lists this one at 21.5 lb against 19.47 lb for the SlimFit. The pockets add a step at installation, since the belt must not lie on top of them.

Who the SlimFit LX 3-in-1 Car Seat fits
This seat covers 3 stages, and a child has to meet every limit of the stage they are in. Graco gives it a 10-year life from the date of manufacture, so check the date label before using a hand-me-down.
Rear-facing harness5 to 40 lb
The child faces the back of the car, which keeps the head, neck and spine supported in a frontal crash. Keep this mode as long as the child fits it.
Forward-facing harness26.5 to 65 lb · Up to 49 in
The child faces forward in the seat’s own harness. Use the top tether every time, and stay in the harness until the child outgrows it.
High-back booster40 to 100 lb · 43 to 57 in · from 4 years
The seat’s own back and belt guide route the vehicle belt across the shoulder, and the sides give the child something to lean on when they sleep.

How the SlimFit LX 3-in-1 Car Seat installs
Lower anchors
InRight LATCH. Check your vehicle manual for which seating positions have anchors, and switch to the seat belt once the child passes the anchor weight limit in the manual.
Recline
4 recline positions. The recline angle is what keeps a young baby’s airway open, so set it before tightening the install.
Every install is a fit between one seat and one vehicle. Read both manuals, and use a free inspection station if anything is unclear.
Will it fit your car?
At 19.9 in at its widest, measure your back seat before counting on three across. It weighs 21.5 lb, which matters if you will move it between cars or carry it through an airport.
Check your vehicle manual for lower anchor positions and any head-restraint rules.
Rear-facing seats need front-seat room: try the install behind the driver before you commit.
Aircraft certification is printed on the seat’s own label; check before you fly.

What to know before you live with it
RapidRemove cover and myPocket pockets
The manual splits the fabrics into a headrest pad, lower seat pad, front pad, side pad and top pad. The lower seat pad unsnaps from the side pad and pulls up off fastening strips; the others come off with snaps, elastic straps, loops and tabs. Each is machine washed in cold water on a delicate cycle and drip-dried, without bleach. The myPocket pockets snap to the armrests, are not interchangeable, and are not required to use the seat. Do not put sharp objects or anything over 1 lb in them. The harness, lower anchor and tether straps are surface wash only.
Rear-facing, use the blue belt path and recline position 1 or 2, with the level indicator ball fully in the blue zone and at least 80% of the base on the vehicle seat. For a belt install, lift the seat pad to reach the belt path, flip the myPocket pocket out of the way, buckle and lock the vehicle belt (in most vehicles by pulling the shoulder belt all the way out and letting it retract), then tighten. Forward-facing uses the orange belt path, recline position 3 or 4 and the tether. Lower anchors are not for a child over 45 lb and need vehicle anchors 11 in apart. The seat should move less than 1 in.
The headrest and harness adjust together. Rear-facing, the head must be at least 1 in below the headrest adjustment handle; forward-facing, the top of the ears must be below the top of the headrest. The infant head and body supports are only for children under 20 lb. In booster mode the harness is stored inside the seat, the seat goes in recline position 4, and the child is held by the vehicle lap and shoulder belt. LATCH may hold the booster in place up to 100 lb. Never use a lap-only belt.
No campaign in the current NHTSA child-restraint data names this model family, and I have not run a separate review for it. Check your seat’s model number and date of manufacture before use.
What are the SlimFit LX 3-in-1 weight and height limits?
Rear-facing is 5 to 40 lb with the head at least 1 in below the handle, forward-facing is 26.5 to 65 lb up to 49 in, and the highback booster is 40 to 100 lb and 43 to 57 in for children at least 4.
The manual says not to place sharp objects or objects weighing more than 1 lb in them. The belt or lower anchor strap must not lie on top of the pockets.
It is certified for aircraft when used with the harness on a forward-facing aircraft seat. It is not certified as a booster because aircraft have no shoulder belts.

Before you buy
Weigh and measure your child. The limits above are the manufacturer’s, and a child has to meet all of them for the mode they will use.
Confirm the exact version. Colors, retail exclusives and model numbers change limits more often than you would expect; Graco lists 2 colors of this seat.
Read the manual before you buy, not after. It is linked above and holds the fit rules, the install methods and the expiry.
Check recalls by model number and date of manufacture, and register the seat with Graco so you hear about the next one.
